Not being at the game today I would like the thoughts of who went, this adding on lots of added time to the end of the game, in this case 14 minutes, do you think it will help the full time teams as obviously they will be fitter??

Were Dorking lagging???

Yes, be good to hear from the guys who went today 🐔🐔⚽️⚽️

Marc said in advance that Chesterfield as a full time team and with a full preseason would be up to speed more than us, so seems like we performed at a really high level and a good sign for the upcoming games?

Was never an extra 14 mins in the 2nd half. Last season that would have been 6 or 7. There was no excessive time wasting even when we were down to 10 men!

@dorking-eagle no way it was 14 minutes added time. No idea where they got that from and reading a few comments on the National League page slating Dorking off I think they should all point to themselves. Karma is a bitch and what goes around comes around. Can’t wait for the rematch at home against Chesterfield.

Wasn't at the game but 14 minutes does seem a lot of shoelace tying. But to be fair, we have benefitted from the odd bit of extra injury time before, as Ebbsfleet will testify!

Main thing is that the refs should indicate when they are adding on time - they just need to point to their watch - so people can see when they are being judged to be wasting time.  Goalkeepers are usually the worst culprits. It is really not difficult for refs to fix - 30 seconds tops for a goal kick or a booking. Job done.

The referees job is to deal with any time wasting as it happens and this needs to continue not just added on at the end of the game

Lengthy goal celebrations are a bit annoying, but again the referee should deal with it at the time

Maybe need to book an extra hour on the car park for Saturday 🐔 🤔

Lots of noise around the ridiculous amount of extra time on the first day of the season .. should reduce in game week 2 (are we ok with that terminology 🤣🤔 #gameweek2 )

Not sure why they have to throw players under the bus they way they do, should be kept in house, looking at the 2nd yellow, I thought it was a bit harsh.

It's quite clear that clubs at this level target players already on a yellow - we've seen DW do it via the behind the scenes BOA footage, but also Yeovil were shown discussing it against us on their fly on the wall documentary.

In normal circumstances we may well have done a substitution after the first yellow, but the squad was short of fitness in a few areas on that first day after a rough pre-season. I think we have to look at it as unfortunate and a massive learning point for the player.
