Went to see Horsham last night. Bobby Joe came on at 60 minutes with Horsham losing 1-0. Despite putting in some teasing corners and crosses, none of his team mates could put then away. Would not be surprised if his loan is extended if all parties agree.

Isaac Philpott gave his usual assured performance as left centre back. Jack Jebb played whole game in Folkestone's central midfield.

Bobby Joe has always been a strange one for me. If you go back to the 2022-2023 season and from the first game he looked class, and to be brutally honest one of the few who really shined at that level.

He has consistently been used sparingly as a bit part and never cemented down a regular spot, despite clearly being good enough for the team.

This loan is basically about him putting himself in the shop window, to get a move away. I do hope Bobby goes so he can find a club that appreciates him and to play regular football. With the changes to the squad, he is not going to ever get a regular spot now for the club. Horsham should jump on this transfer, as he is going to be extremely effective at that level.

Didn't Jebb once say to Marc that he was too good for National League South? Well look at him now, he is not even playing at that level. One below that. He never physically looked up to the level did Jebb, looked like your classic situation of a talented youth player picking up an injury and never being the same again. The transfer of him to Dorking was a mistake for sure.

Agree, Bobby-Joe transferring to Horsham would probably be good for all parties.

The issue is that Bobby is an out-and-out left back as part of a back 4. We don't play a back 4 so he often struggles to nail down a place in the side. That being said, I think he generally does a good job as a wing-back and is a good player to have in the squad.

Not every player in the squad has to start every game. A month or so loan at Horsham will be good for him to build up fitness while we have Randall in the building.
