We look to bounceback after late heartbreak on Tuesday night with a trip to Boreham Wood this Saturday. The Wood are unbeaten in their last 5 matches but only have 1 win in that period and were involved in some crazy late drama of their own last night with a 4-4 draw against Eastleigh.

Marc said Briggs is still about 10 days away from a return while Luke Moore still has 2 games of his suspension left to serve and Fuller is still a few weeks away.

Predictions:

Boreham Wood 2-2 Dorking (Muitt, Prior)

1,063 att.

                                 Male

        Francomb           Craig           Hollis

Muitt             J. Taylor         Pybus             B. Taylor

                                Carter

                      Prior             Ottaway

Subs: Gallagher, McManus, Blair, Bowerman, Rutherford

(I think Bobby would be a good option as a LWB for this game as Boreham Wood have effective wingers and you need someone who will track back while still being dangerous going forward. Tuesday night was far too negative with the back four.)

That was a proper Wanderers game. Prior with a lovely header, plus an assist to Carter for his second goal of the season. Alfie once again capitalizing on a Boreham Wood mistake. The team looked more in control of the game even when it was 11 v 11. I hope confidence keeps building. Great mental comeback after that sucker punch at D&R. Alfie was a standout while he was on the field, he seemed to be involved with a lot of plays. Carter stepped it up as well. It seemed Bobby-Joe needs to be a little quicker with his shots. It looks like he takes just a little too long to get a shot off. Going to be buzzing all weekend.

What a difference 4 days makes! Excellent performance, even before the red. We just look so much more dangerous with Alfie up top with Prior and Carter behind.

Really hard to pick a MoM as almost everyone was excellent. It would probably be between Hollis and Carter for me though.

Only negatives are the injury to Bowerman and potential injury(?) to TC. Hopefully nothing too serious for both.

Was a superb performance, defensively so controlled, but not at the expense of going forward. More of the same please Wanderers!

Yep, a really great performance all round. Defensively very solid, even before red card and made such a difference to have Alfie back to run the channels. Carter MoM for me - a class above defensively and going forward.

Sad to see injury to Seb, but tbh Bobby Joe brings more of an attacking threat and helps out Hollis defensively.

A shame the other results did not go our way again - just shows how little there is to choose between most teams. But more performances like that and we will be fine.

Wow what a great result that was, please let me know what the game was like.

That looks like the best and strongest team we have, except I would have Bobby Joe instead of Bowerman.

Boreham Wood were rolling around pretending to be fouled from the opening seconds. I think their tactic was to hope for free kicks in dangerous areas plus corners as they created very little threat otherwise

Hollis was commanding the defence from left back and Craig was solid as a rock.

Today was going to be a test but the whole team really rolled up their sleeves and won the majority of the physical battles

That was no small amount of skill by Alfie to calmly slot that goal home when gifted a pass by the keeper, had a split second to hit it perfectly

According to Luke Garrard's post match interview Charlie Carter was the best player by a 'country mile'. Wasn't at the match but based on what I have seen at home that sounds about right. Class apart. Now playing in what I would think is his preferred position, and let's hope without more injuries, this is looking really good for the coming matches.

Bang on about Carter - in his proper position he was superb. So good in the air as well as on the deck.

And agree Gary on the team. Let’s hope they stay fit and build up a few games. Male hardly had a shot to save all game. Even M25 was clear in way home. A perfect away day.

We now have more away wins this season so far (5) than all of last season (4). We've also equalled our clean sheet tally of 7 from last season.

Currently 4 points better off than we were at this point last season.

This time last year we couldn't score or get a league win for about 6 weeks iirc. Only rectified by bringing in George, Tony and Jason.

Think we'll be okay this season too.

@dorking-eagle The only difference last year was that there were 2 or 3 dreadful teams who were certain to be relegated by this point (Maidstone, Scunthorpe, Yeovil) but that doesn't seem to be the case this year. I could see any of the bottom 4 surviving at the moment.

Fortunately there are more teams around us who can get dragged in to the mix this year (Woking, Maidenhead, York, Hartlepool, Dagenham, Boreham Wood, Wealdstone).

No exaggeration to say that next week against Fylde is the biggest game of the season so far.

Every team except Chesterfield will be just a little concerned about yesterday's results. There are now only 14 points between a play-off place and relegation.

@dorkingtyke Hmmm, I don't think anyone above Eastleigh would have been concerned. In fact, the likes of Solihull, Oldham, etc dropping points would have been welcomed by most up there.

Bit late to this but what a win, and a great away day. Love the ground, too. Must rank as one of the better if not best away days in the NL.

Performance was about as comfortable as I've seen for a very long time. Looked sharp in all areas, comfortable on the ball, confident and classy. I actually think though that we can get even better than that.

Hollis just shading MoM for me, slightly ahead of the brilliant Carter, given his strong leadership, but tbh, all were superb.

Think we'll be ok - but it's tight down there!

Also late to the party too … but what an awesome result and voted Charlie Carter MOM

As per Marc’s pre match weekly update a proper Wanderers team put out and some positive signs ahead

Just need to secure some home wins starting on Saturday against AC Fylde … and hope not to have a repeat of Kiddi and Oxford Citt home games when we weee so hopeful

We are going global too 🇦🇺 👇
