Not much time to rest as we face potential promotion rivals Boreham Wood at Meadowbank on Tuesday night. We did the double over them last season after a 2-1 win at Meadowbank before seeing one of our best performances of the season away from home, winning 3-0 at Meadow Park back in January.
McShane, Gallagher and Norville-Williams all continue to miss out while Marc confirmed Pybus would train on the Monday before the game. Rhys Murphy limped out of the warm-up on Saturday and would therefore be unlikely to be involved on Tuesday night as well.
Predictions
Dorking 0-0 Boreham Wood
1,642 attd.
Foulkes
Camp Craig Francomb
Muitt Kuhl J.Taylor Bowerman
Carter
Prior Rutherford
Subs: Fuller, Moore, McManus, Briggs, B.Taylor
Yep - a draw seems most likely;
Dorking (0) 1 Boreham Wood (1) 1 (Carter)
1,499 (38 Wood)
Going to 0-0 here, lack of firepower up top at the moment with no Murphy and Prior looking way off it.
What a magnificent advert for the division. Hope Camp and Kuhl aren't too seriously injured with the games as 2 per week for the next few weeks.
Felt we were good value for the draw. Some hairy moments at the back 2nd half - think Harrison has Slav tendencies at times to come out the penalty area and try to play the ball in the face of oncoming attackers!! Heart in mouth stuff at times.
Briggs looked 100% which was great to see and I loved the battle he had with Sousa
Prior took both goals brilliantly, making amends for an under par game v Chippenham.
Deffo respect the point, was vital we didn't lose any ground to the team who could well be our main title rivals long into the season

@dorking-eagle If Camp's injury takes him out for a spell that will be 3 of our 4 summer signings injured, and we are only 3 games into the season.
Agree that Briggsy looked really good when he came on. Excited to see him get closer to who he was a few seasons ago.
It looked like we were making small mistakes with passing and a few decisions, but overall fun game to watch. Some real nail-biting moments, especially that 1 on 1 save by Harrison. I was surprised that we went long as often as we did, but BW's press was really good.
I'll take the point, but hoped we could have pulled 3.
A good point that I would have definitely taken before the game and even more so considering the respective performances of both sides during the game. Have to be honest, Boreham Wood looked a level above us and I will be surprised if they are not champions this season. Admittedly, we were missing 3 or 4 first team players before the game and lost Camp and Kuhl mid-game so it may have been closer if we were at full strength.
Forward areas still seem a real concern and it feels like if Carter has a quiet game, like he did last night, then we create almost nothing unless our wide players get their delivery right and Prior is in the right place. Marc mentioned he was looking at loan options and I would be very surprised if we don't see a striker or attacking midfielder come in.
Good to see JP scoring and he took his goals really well but I thought his all round game was poor again last night and he was responsible for the second goal. Carter probably had his worst ever game for us and Muitt definitely had his worst game in a long time. On the flip side, Briggs looked sharp when he came on and I though TC and Francomb were excellent again at the back.
On a side note, being able to use 5 subs is good for us in terms of covering injuries but at the moment I don't think we have the quality on the bench to be making 5 subs per game. It ends up feeling like a pre-season game where half the team is different in the last 15-20 mins and feels very fragmented. I know the Kuhl and Camp subs were enforced last night but we looked a much worse side when they went off.
God knows what side we will put out for the double header this bank holiday weekend. If all the existing injured players are still out and Camp/Kuhl are out as well then we really will be down to 14-15 total players...
I thought it was a really good game but was certainly relieved to escape from that with a point. I would be surprised to see a better team than Boreham Wood at Meadowbank this season - they looked very assured in possession and a step up from last year. Sousa was best player on pitch and scored a belter.
Stand out performances from Kuhl and Camp until they went off, but not enough from the wings and the link up between Alfie and JP was hardly there at all. Jason took his goals really well, but then gave the ball away cheaply for their second equaliser. He was not the only one to do that way too much - that contributed to all those hairy moments at the back. Harrison made some terrific saves but agree he needs to work on his playing out. I thought Marc was very honest in his comments - need to be better in possession and I would like to see Josh Taylor and Carter on the ball more in the middle of the field - the clip down the line is too obvious an option to do all the time and brought little joy. Not many chances created in open play still.
But a solid start to the season - looking forward to Torquay on Saturday.
Sofascore are offering advanced stats again which is a bonus. Something I didn't expect now that we are back in the NLS.

Highest Rated Player (Dorking): Harrison Foulkes [7.4]
You can see average position of players as well and really interesting to see the position of Prior. He was considerably deeper than Rutherford (Chippenham was the opposite) and even Carter and Muitt.
That is interesting @TomCalvert. Confirms our thoughts on the game. But some of those big chances for the Wood were from horrible defensive errors and cheap free kicks conceded. It was noticeable in some of the friendlies that Prior sometimes dropped deep into the hole in midfield to make the play - surely not his best role? Would rather see Carter and Josh Taylor dropping in there to receive the ball from TC. Would also like to see BJT given more of a run out on left wing - I thought Seb was poor on Tuesday, at least going forward.
@baggy I think both wide players had quiet/poor games on Tuesday but it was probably mainly due to Camp, Kuhl, Francomb, etc hitting long balls over their head down the channel to no-one.
Bowerman was actually the highest rated player against Chippenham and had a good game against Truro as well. Bobby will likely play a part this weekend though due to the injury situation.
Its been a good start to the season with the games we have had. I do feel we need reinforcements in DCM on loan though given the Kuhl situation, we are very light there and its a key position. We really only have Luke Moore who is being used by Marc in games to put in a 30 minute shift at the end of games. Dan G maybe back in a week but there are 2 games coming up.
Looks like the official attendance was 1,621 in the end
