On the road again as we face newly promoted Chesham United at The Meadow. Chesham currently sit in 14th place with 28 points although they have lost their last 3 games in a row.

Injury news expected tomorrow in the weekly update but Marc did mention that Prior may return for this one.

Predictions

Chesham 1-3 Dorking (Carter, Rutherford, Young)

832 att.

                           Foulkes

           Camp         Craig      Milsom

    Briggs            Gallagher             Muitt

                Carter               Young

               Prior              Rutherford

Subs: Francomb, McManus, Norville-Williams, Randall, Murphy

Trip down memory lane this one - used to watch Chesham in the early nineties as an alternative to Watford, as they were local and were my introduction to non league football. Great club - just looked at an old programme and one of the results (92-93) was a 9-1 win vs. Boreham Wood in a FA Cup Qualifying replay. How times change.

Anyway;

Chesham (1)2 Dorking (1)4 (Rutherford 2, Prior, Carter)

911 (205 from Dorking)

Fancy another tight away win like last week. I’ll say 1-2 again

I’m not yet confident enough the boys can produce two good results in a row but a win would be a massive boost going into Christmas. Sorry to be cautious but I’m going 2-2.  Looking forward to first trip to ground.

The defensive line up looks pretty solid today and suited to a game such as this at this time of year.

I am going for a 2-1 win with goals from Prior and Muitt

What a great awayday that was!

Best away performance so far for me, albeit against a pretty poor home team.  Restricting them to one shot on target was a great effort and it was brilliant to see some classic Wanderers goals in the second half.  Jimmy took his goals well and Alfie seems back to his best. Jack Young was very tidy throughout.

Sending off was possibly a touch harsh but it was a stupid tackle to make there. Killed the game. More of the same next week please 👊

Can’t wait to see the goals . Really must start doing some more away games !

See some things on Twitter about JB getting booted out the ground for racism?! Can’t be right surely

There were some choice words exchanged between JB and Chesham chairman apparently.
I was watching with a Chesham fan who said chairman had a bit of a record of this sort of stuff.  JB very mild mannered in my experience

Marc has joked about it on his post match interview so maybe not as serious as some of the faceless Chesham fans online have made out

Saw JB just after the 3rd goal down our end and he was in a really good mood and very positive and chatty, what is claimed doesn't sound at all plausible to me, and if those that know him best aren't convinced then it seems dubious.

Chesham were worse than Hemel when we beat them 7-1, their only gameplan seemed to be to try and hold out for a 0-0, and maybe score from a corner at best. Not sure Harrison in goal had a single thing to do?

Team were excellent and on the front foot. Thought the Chesham manager was deluded saying it was an even game until we scored - Dorking were pushing forward with attacks from the start.

As for the sending off, the allegations seem to be that it was the scream and "8 players surrounding the ref" that made it a red card. Be interesting to see on BoA in a few weeks time if there was any sort of pre match advice or plan to capitalise on their indiscipline? (Like a couple of seasons ago when MW had done his homework and knew the Chesterfield keeper Caugnari was hot headed and made the players aware?). FIVE red cards in 6 games is not some random coincidence!

A really familiar tactic this season it seems - difference is, we're now finally really punishing those sides

@dorking-eagle Think it might have been 965.

Obviously can't really comment on what happened with JB as I wasn't in that stand but I agree that it does seem very unlike him based off my few interactions with him. Hopefully BoA have some footage/audio that can help but I feel like if it was genuine then either Chesham or Dorking would have made a statement by now.

Was also too far away from the red card to give an opinion on that but I've heard a few people now say it was soft. Not sure why Chesham fans are complaining though as the score was already 0-3 at that point...

Performance was good but Chesham were easily the poorest side we've played away from home so far this season. Even Hemel had a bit about them going forward but Chesham had absolutely nothing and looked like a side 1 or 2 leagues below NLS level.

Excellent news about Jack Young staying until the end of the season; can't wait to see him in a midfield with Josh Taylor at some point. Thought he was probably MOM yesterday if you exclude Rutherford and Muitt for their goals.

Worthing will be a much harder test, especially at Meadowbank where we haven't won in the league since October...

Some stats:

Possession: Chesham 30% - 70% Dorking

xG: Chesham 0.81 - 2.80 Dorking

Shots (On Target): Chesham 5(2) - 12(8) Dorking

Top Performer: Alfie Rutherford [9.8]
