Runaway leaders Chesterfield come to town this Saturday in front of the TNT Sports cameras. They need just a few more wins to guarantee promotion.

We will hope to bounceback with some sort of result to keep within arm's reach of safety. I don't expect too much difference in terms of player availability as Marc mentioned Briggs and Bowerman were still at least a week or so away. Muitt returned to the bench last weekend so we can probably expect him to see some action this time from him. Tony Craig misses the game through suspension.

Predictions:

Dorking 1-3 Chesterfield (J.Taylor)

2,789 att.

Possible Lineup:

                            Male

    Francomb     Cook    Hollis    B.Taylor

McManus                 Pybus                   Blair

                     Carter        J.Taylor

                              Prior

Subs: Fuller, Gallagher, Moore, Muitt, Rutherford

I can see Marc going with a 4-5-1 of sorts for this one as I don't he will want a back 3 defending man for man against Chesterfield. I doubt Muitt starts but he may do instead of McManus if considered fit enough. I can see Cook coming in for Craig but also wouln't surprise me if Gallagher plays there instead.

@georges Yes agreed - though the core/spine is still there I think.

I'd just like to see at least one full season of Briggs and Rutherford as neither have yet been really tested in the NL, and I think they could both make a big impact.

I've paid up for Patreon BoA membership - it's not a lot and well worth it imo.

Yeah I think DJ was the biggest recent loss. So vital to have a real ball player there if you’re trying to build from the back. I loved watching him at work.

I have priced in a loss for tomorrow but it would be good to see a solid back four performance and some ideas on creating more chances.

Best hope is for a Notts County - absolutely battered and 3-1 win!

With Crawley's game postponed tomorrow, will be at Dorking instead. Let's hope we get a good result.

What a game! I'm just buzzing. My wife kept saying, "They scored again?!?" YES! Alfie was great. Carter was aggressive. That shot he had in the 90+ minute was really pretty- really thought that was going in. Our midfield looked so dominant. Briggs looking better, and Jimmy had some really good breaks. Seeing JP all over the field looked so good. Hope this brings up the morale, confidence to take us into the next few difficult games.

I didn’t see that coming at all*. We’ve just made the runaway lead leaders and champions elect look very ordinary. Fantastic performance from front to back. Amazing the difference having a far fuller squad to choose from makes.

*that said I did say this morning that we’re more likely to put in a performance against these than we are those around us!

Great performance from the whole team. Who said we don't have pace in the team- our front five caused them no end of problems. Score did not flatter us at all. Hollis was my man of match, he was immense at back and won everything at back.

At least Maidenhead and York lost today. As Marc said we really need to go for it against Altrincham and try an win our game in hand. Good to see a lot of attacking options and agree with Marc we need to look at scoring more as goals win matches.

We looked exceptional today, great to see players playing the early ball in the opponents half and causing them problems. Also great to see the defenders playing well and being aggressive and not standing off. Overall, great.

Marc taking the week off work to focus on the preparation really paid dividends here as did a group who delivered on the brief.

Such a positive performance from the boys today

Hollis exceptional from the off and made Grigg anonymous… Barry was so up for it and Cooky was solid … and that’s just the defenders

Alfie will get huge confidence from his two goals, Charlie was good again … Blair, Briggs, Muitt proper Wanderers wingers

All round good day and hopefully this can give us confidence to kick on … next few games can be key if we string a few points together

Enjoy the weekend Wanderers fans 🐔 👏👏

Well I didn't see that coming! Even at half time, with that late goal, I was nervous, after Barnet etc.  But that was a great team performance for the full 90. Really aggressive all over the pitch, won the 50-50s and - crucially - took those chances. Hollis is much better in the middle against less pace, and Cook & Fuller really solid. Both Briggs and Muitt were a real threat and Alfie ruthless.  Let's hope we see more of the same on Tuesday and for the rest of the season. Up the Wanderers!

Massively enjoyed the game today, you could see we were on the front foot in the first 10 mins had 3 chances

Wish we would play like that every week

Important thing is not to think we've won the cup final but to replicate it again and again to get the points needed (still so close down there!)

What an immense result. Agree with David, feet on the ground and on to the next game.

The players have sent a bar now for next 11 or 12 games,  as well as the management team with their preparation. Not saying Marc needs to take 12 weeks off work.

Looking at the Chesterfield forum they think that was their worst performance for ages. Very critical of DJ too.  They were certainly second best in the challenges all day, but we pressed them high , they went long, got no change out of Hollis.

So credit to the management team for getting this one right.  There’s me thinking keep it tight and score on the break and Marc’s approach - from his interview- is to get on the front foot and outscore the opposition. Fair play. Should be an exciting last quarter!

Nothing much more that I can add. Pressed them incredibly well, Cook and Fuller coming back into the team and playing as they did was incredible. Need to use that as the standard now and press on.
