Dorking will look to build on the win over Gateshead at the weekend as they face a Dagenham & Redbridge side who haven't played a match in 14 days. The Daggers have been in indifferent form with 1 win and 2 draws in their last 5 league matches, albeit with plenty of goals scored in that time (10).

Marc mentioned that Briggs will rejoin training this week but you would expect Tuesday's match will arrive too quickly for him to be involved. Barry Fuller and James McShane continue to miss out while Luke Moore has 3 games of his suspension remaining. Tom Blair came off with a knock around the hour mark at the weekend so it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough for this one.

Predictions:

Dagenham 1-1 Dorking (Prior)

1,321 att.

                                       Male

      Francomb         Craig            Hollis         B.Taylor

Muitt                 Gallagher                Pybus            Bowerman

                                      J.Taylor

                                        Prior

Subs: Kennedy, McManus, Carter, Blair, Rutherford

Carter on the bench - interesting...

Dagenham's home form is pretty bad, 9 defeats I think, but no draws.

So I'll go for;

Dagenham (0) 0 Dorking (0) 1 (Rutherford)

1,201 (101 Wanderers)

@adeb Carter looked like he picked up a slight knock towards the end of the game but we'd used all 3 subs so couldn't come off. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me if Marc rests him from the start for this one with Boreham Wood in mind.

We also tend to be a bit more defensive away from home so Gallagher having some fresh legs might be useful.

@calvertskans as long as Dan doesn't score an early own-goal like he did vs Dagenham in November 🤣 Just refreshed my memory from the highlights and we gifted them 2 goals to lose 3-1 and their form has since been ropey, hopefully will be a bit fresher tomorrow.

@georges Yeah we should never really have lost that day. Had an awful start and gifted them 2 goals.

Yes, there were some awful mistakes that day.
Another performance like Saturday should hopefully be enough to get at least a point. Hope Blair and Carter are fit to start. If so, I’m going 1-2 away win.

@calvertskans Flashbacks to Chelmsford at home, Feb 2020, when we scored from a corner with an assist from Storm Dennis. Get those crosses in Bobby! 🤣

Interesting team. Guess Carter has a knock.  Slightly defensive perhaps? Keep it tight for an hour and then bring on Jimmy and Alfie?

Looked far too negative for me tonight. Prior was left largely isolated in the first half. Certainly looked like the aim was to keep it tight and push in the last 20 minutes.

Thought they were there for the taking. Effiong aside they are very, very ordinary.

Watched the 2nd half on the stream from Aussie. So only can say what I see from that.

We look a team with no ideas going forward,  Prior touch the ball 3 times, lost it twice then was taken off, Blair flicked it on and Prior didn't want to chase it, plays with his back to the goal because he can't  out pace the defenders.

Not sure why Rutherford didn't come instead of Ottaway, also Carter was on the bench but came, not sure why he couldn't start, if anyone knows both questions.

Sounds like the bench or Marc was getting some stick from  the crowd but responding to them is Sunday football attitude.

Heartbreaking way to lose but ultimately deserved in my opinion. The team selection was far too negative as it looked like we went there for a 0-0.

Prior should not be playing up top by himself if he doesn't have 10s running off him which he did not have tonight as no Carter or McShane in the side. Not helped that he also had a really poor game himself.

I think we needed Hollis in the side to deal with the Effiong threat. The second goal does not happen if Hollis is on the pitch.

Muitt was one of the few bright sparks and I would expect him to start on Saturday now. Rutherford should have come on instead of Ottaway at 1-0 down.

I do agree with Marc in that I can't see why we played on to the 97th minute when there was about 1 minute left when the penalty was given...

@happy-hammers Carter picked up a slight knock on Saturday and they didn't want to risk him too much tonight.

Probably a mistake though; if he's fit enough for the bench then he's fit enough to start.

Prior barely got the ball in all the time he was on the pitch, only time I remember was when he was near the far corner of the pitch.

To be fair it felt like we hardly got the ball out of our half for the first 30 mins

The subs did perk up our team and our play particularly Muitt

You would have to re-watch the whole of the "4 minutes" of stoppage time to work out the timings, but there did feel like quite a delay from the award of our pen to when it was taken. And then for the goal celebration plus Ottaway taking ages to do up his boot laces to delay the restart.

What was the time on the clock at the end though because it felt like 98? With them going back ahead on 97.5?

You can't change anything but in spells I think we did alright and caused trouble, whilst the back 4 was the right way to go.

Overall I think Dagenham edged it and if anyone had to get the 3 pts they were more deserving. Still gutting though as was absolutely buzzing at the equaliser.
