Dorking will look to build on the win over Gateshead at the weekend as they face a Dagenham & Redbridge side who haven't played a match in 14 days. The Daggers have been in indifferent form with 1 win and 2 draws in their last 5 league matches, albeit with plenty of goals scored in that time (10).
Marc mentioned that Briggs will rejoin training this week but you would expect Tuesday's match will arrive too quickly for him to be involved. Barry Fuller and James McShane continue to miss out while Luke Moore has 3 games of his suspension remaining. Tom Blair came off with a knock around the hour mark at the weekend so it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough for this one.
Predictions:
Dagenham 1-1 Dorking (Prior)
1,321 att.
Male
Francomb Craig Hollis B.Taylor
Muitt Gallagher Pybus Bowerman
J.Taylor
Prior
Subs: Kennedy, McManus, Carter, Blair, Rutherford
We turned up for a draw and it was no surprise that we walked away with nothing as didn't even deserve the equaliser. Far too negative.
Gallagher instead of Hollis was an interesting choice at the start of the game and a dreadful one by the end, he looked out of his depth trying to mark their big strikers. JP on his own up top didn't work and I don't know why we persisted with it for so long. Blair looked frankly disinterested in the game and I think Seb has been off it for a few weeks now.
Muitt coming off the bench was a highlight of a poor evening but sadly I think this goes down as another game lost that was there for the taking due to the wrong tactics and personnel. Seriously concerned about relegation now as we don't seem to be learning from our mistakes.
Watched on the stream - penalty awarded with, I think 40 seconds of the injury time to play. Not sure how long it took them to score from the restart though.
Totally gutting, deserved a point imo, decent second half, play flowed much better.
Prior's looking tired atm, so it's back to the striker conversation again I think as we have 3 strikers, 2 of which are well over 30 (I think?), and seem to lack some pace.
I didn’t make it to the game last night but it looked one way traffic on Twitter! At least until the end. What a gutter.
Agree @TomCalvert it was too much to ask of Jason up top on his own and was surprised Alfie didn’t come on. Marc said he was not happy with attacking threat. Alfie and Carter back for Saturday hopefully should help.
Believe it or not, Muitt will always say (if asked) that he is a striker (rather than a winger)
I remember him scoring a cracking strikers goal at Maidstone away pre-covid in the NLS
We've seen so little of him in the striker role but I imagine he's a bit like Rutherford, lots of skill, ball at his feet, taking players on and going past them etc
It's a potential option.
Prior only seems to score the sort of goals when he gets the service 'on a plate' at close range (but I still think he's lethal if he gets the quality service)
God knows what the tactics will be at Boreham Wood, does anyone remember what in particular we did in the home win over them (it was the game where Hollis scored that low header)?

Totally agree - he is one of the best if the cross is just right.
@dorking-eagle Boreham Wood dominated that home game and we were very lucky to win that day. Alfie scored from a mistake from the keeper and Hollis had a free header from a corner.
I think BWD will play fairly similar to Dagenham but with a bit more attacking threat. I would be VERY surprised if Carter and Muitt don't start. Wouldn't surprise me to see Alfie up top with JP either. Probably Hollis instead of Bobby-Joe as well.
@dorking-eagle Jimmy's goal against Crawley at home in a Covid friendly is still one of the best goals I've seen at Meadowbank (albeit from over the fence 😅)
And is anyone keeping tabs on the number of points coughed up to pretty much the last kick of the game? I’m thinking Rochdale, Bromley, Daggers but there may be more. Maybe it’s all karma for Mooro vs Ebbsfleet in the playoff final
@calvertskans Maybe fitness, lack of full time, training etc plays a part?
Mentally I have no idea why we seem to switch off towards the end...used to be that we'd be the ones making the late comebacks, which happened several times last season.
I know many were wondering about the added time and how it all worked out - someone has apparently scrutinised the footage -
Time left (of the 4 added minutes) when the penalty is awarded 1minute 14 secs
(then loads of walking about)
Time left after penalty goal is scored from the resulting chance 1minute 8 secs
(then loads of celebrating by DW players)
Time left after Dagenham score 39secs
So unfortunately (!!) the ref does seem to have it right. Fair do's.

Defending for that second goal is really bad...
Ottaway seems to just completely miss the ball when going to clear it and leaves Effiong an open goal effectively.
@adeb Yeah I think it's a few reasons and each game almost has a different one:
Chesterfield (A) - Down to 10 men, crazy amount of added time and no match fitness as first game of the season
Maidenhead (H) - Chasing the game as 1-0 down
Rochdale (H) - Two injuries in the first half meaning we end up with Seager at left back and also down to 10 men
Bromley (A) - Very unlucky as goalscorer should have been sent off earlier and foul on the keeper in the build-up
Oxford (H) - Chasing the game as 1-0 down
Oxford (A) - Consolation goal
Dagenham (A) - Bad defending and not switched on I guess...
