A first away trip in what feels like an age as we take on in-form Eastleigh. One of the better sides in the league at the moment who also have the league's top scorer in Paul McCallum.

Will they have one eye on their FA Cup 3rd round tie in a couple of weeks though?

I strangely fancy us to get something from this one. Especially if we might have a few of the lads back for it (Prior, Briggs, Pybus, Bowerman, Blair all possibly back)

Eastleigh 2-2 Dorking (B. Taylor, Carter)

1,776 attd.

Male, Francomb, Craig, Hollis, B.Taylor, Muitt, Gallagher, J.Taylor, Carter, McShane, Ottaway (Prior if fit)

Subs: Fuller, Philpot, Moore, Bowerman, Prior/Ottaway/Briggs (Depending on who is fit)

The injury crisis rumbles on, I think it'll be the same all season tbh (won't get any easier with so many midweek games in the schedule all through winter).

I think it's no bad thing he keeps his cards close to his chest in terms of fitness/injuries. Until the 2.15 pre-match interview anyway.

Because otherwise we are doing half the planning for any oppo manager who knows our squad well and how we play (and you only have to watch BoA regularly to learn our most used tactics)

Honestly don't get the thinking behind these loan moves, short enough on players as it is yet sending more out on loan and extending existing loan deals. All the while we aren't brining anyone in to cover for them even on an emergency loan. Very strange.

With the  Kuhl situation, I've got a feeling Marc doesn't fancy him anymore only imo.

I haven't seen the latest round up from Marc. But again IMO Prior is Marc's favourite and I think he can do what ever he wants.

Are the loans out due to finances and needing to juggle & manage the wage bill maybe? 🤔

Big 3 games up-coming, especially the Oxford City double header 🐔 ⚽️

The budget will likely be extremely tight - we wouldn't be pre-selling next seasons kit(s) 6 months early if the club didn't want to try and throw everything at our current predicament (not to mention all the ambitious infrastructure projects in the pipeline including buying the freehold)

If Marc doesn't feel Rutherford, Kuhl, Jebb or whoever is the right players right now, then he's at liberty to try and shuffle the squad as he deems necessary

Hopefully a striker comes in before the flurry of games come thick and fast

@dorking-eagle agreed … & the overall squad, when fitness and injuries are stable, should be sufficient and we need to balance the budget too 👍

Personally, I feel Charlie Carter will have a big positive impact on the team towards the latter part of the season 🐔 and a fit regular striker will be huge too

Not sure I'd lump Rutherford in the discussion of Jebb, Kuhl or Cook. It is clear that Alfie is very much just there to get some fitness minutes and will be back in a few weeks. He is cup tied for the Macclesfield game so makes sense to have him playing regularly somewhere else for a few weeks.

Kuhl and Jebb seem to be in the "surplus to requirements but too expensive to sell" bracket to me. Cook remains to be seen.

I do think we need another striker if we're going to get anything out of January tho.

I agree Rutherford is definitely in the club's plan. Also agree we do need another forward, ideally a young striker a bit like Stokes at Aldershot.

I'm not blowing smoke up Tom's arse here I promise.

Today's game was overall positive. We are for sure struggling up top. Not too many good deliveries in the first half. Our set pieces were lackluster. However, some positives: Male getting the ball moving faster out the back. Carter was fantastic. I wish he would have scored on that shot on goal in the first 11 seconds of game. It would have been sweet, sweet revenge from last season. Blair and Bowerman started to provide some better crosses towards the end. Midfield is looking really strong.

@robh I watched the game on the stream,  good quality stream.

Also listen to Marc's post match interview.

Not sure we deserved a draw. Did cause them some problems in the last 20 minutes.

Would of liked to know why those 3 players, Bowerman, Blair and Ottaway  couldn't of started the game and hopefully lasted until halftime.

Looking at the table,  I agree with Tom, I think Ebbsfleet will get out of the the relegation zone.

I saw positives today. If we can score a first goal in a game and defend set pieces better then we're back in business. A win against Oxford next up will go a long way, Carter is decent too.

We're Dorking Wanderers. We're on our way back.

We look sooooo much better with two actual wingers who can dribble and put the ball in the box. Unfortunately I don't think Muitt has been anywhere near his best since he returned from injury and you could really see that when Blair and Bowerman were both on the pitch.

6 points against Oxford now an absolute must.

So many positives from yesterday - the only negative being the result.

Thought there were real signs of quality attacking play at times, especially when Blair and Bowerman came on. Defence and midfield looked strong throughout and playing out from the back was great first half. I think there are definitely reasons to be hopeful that we're starting to turn a corner.

Support was great as usual, Eastleigh 'yoof' made me laugh, but at least they follow their local side.
