So it's a real '6 pointer' on Saturday. I'm going for;

Dorking (1)2 Ebbsfleet (0)2 Blair, Carter

2,020 (381 from Fleet)

I'd be interested to know the style of football Ebbsfleet play, and what line up we might put out to get the best from this one...Tom - over to you!

I think we will win this one on Saturday. Personally I'll would keep the same team from the last game. Only change I might go with is a 4-4-2 formation.

Start nice and tight, then hopefully our class players will come good during the game.

Yeah, absolute must win in my opinion. Obviously there are lots of points to play for after this but this is arguably our most winable home game between now and the end of the season. We don't want to look back in a couple of months and think if only we'd beaten the likes of Ebbsfleet at home, etc.

Dorking 2-1 Ebbsfleet (Carter, Prior)

2,104 att.

                               Male

         Francomb        Craig        Hollis

 Blair             Pybus       Moore        B. Taylor

                             J. Taylor

                     Prior             Carter

Subs: Cook, Kennedy, Gallagher, Ottaway, Rutherford

This one is quite dependent on injury news but as McManus is likely going to miss this one after going off injured at Kidderminster, I think we are pretty much forced in to playing a back 3. Unless one of Briggs or Muitt are fit, then I don't see who else can play out wide except for Bobby-Joe and Blair which means we can't play Bobby at left back. Kennedy could play there I guess, but I think it is more likely we set up with the 3 at the back at home with Bobby on the left to offer a bit of pace that side.

I dont think Rutherford will be rushed back from the start so I reckon Carter plays off JP with Mooro coming in to the midfield 3.

Having a little look on the Fleet forum - seems they think our 'ageing back 4' will be easily exploited with their pace.

Still plenty of bitterness on there too. Wonder how many they'll bring?

Looking at the table, I think this is a must win game.

Fleet have 2 more games than us. (35)

Wealdstone have 3 games less than us. (30)

Southend 1 game less than us but a much better goal difference. (32)

Maidenhead have 2 games more than us. (35)

York, AFC and Boreham Wood have 1 more game than us. (34)

Rochdale have 1 game less than us. (32)

Well Ebbsfleet will know all about the pace of Hollis for sure.  I would prefer to see Bobby Joe as part of a back four for that reason, if there is a fit winger to go in front of him. And Carter can be a bit isolated up front. He is better in a 10 role behind Jason probably. Or Alfie if fit.

An absolute must win game (I  think I have said that before).  It was very tight at their place and  could have gone either way.
I’m going for 3-2 Dorking. 😬

As been said by others this is a must win game, due to relative opponents and confidence. Can't keep losing at home to relegation rivals. Table is very tight, and we have game/s in hand on some teams, but 3 points will make so much difference to position and confidence, compared with 1 for a draw.

I'll be at Palace tomorrow to welcome in the new manager, but will be telepathically willing on the Wanderers.

Just hoping for any kind of win. Would like Alfie to play and do well but will he want to play on the plastic pitch?

Hoping with a back four we can keep them from scoring. A back 3 seems to be the way for us to lose. Hoping to see Alfie in at least as a sub. 2-1 for us.

Over 1800 in the ground again and yet another home defeat.

With Chesterfield next and some players not even training properly.

Even the ever optimistic and grounded Marc doesn't like the look of the remaining fixtures

Where exactly is Aveley?☹

Yep, even me, the eternal optimist, is now fearing for our National League future.

Farnborough for our Boxing Day derby? Would rather it was Sutton Utd of course, but....

Some quick thoughts on the game;

Exposed for lack of pace, yet again.

Lacking decent wing play - understandable with 3 still out.

Cook looked excellent when he came on.

I know we (or I) labour this point, but luck really is not with us. Sending off very dubious, Carter should have scored a second, and 2 good penalty shouts turned down by a referee that couldn't wait to get one of ours sent off, and gave all 50/50 decisions in Ebbsfleet's favour.

The first 20 minutes of the second half were so much better and quicker play was the key  … the sending off changed the game unfortunately … if the first yellow was for dissent then ok, otherwise never a yellow for the foul alone

Agree regarding Joe Cook, I think he has to start and makes a big positive to our defence and remember he made a big difference last season when we had our good run of games

Positives are …

Still lots of games and points to play for and so many teams involved in potential relegation works in our favour too
