So it's a real '6 pointer' on Saturday. I'm going for;

Dorking (1)2 Ebbsfleet (0)2 Blair, Carter

2,020 (381 from Fleet)

I'd be interested to know the style of football Ebbsfleet play, and what line up we might put out to get the best from this one...Tom - over to you!

Just looked at the table and if results go against us on Tuesday then we will be in 23rd.

Have a feeling Woking and Kiddy will both lose - tough games for both (Gateshead and Solihull, 4th and 5th) and both in shocking form

@dorking-eagle staying in the NL is so important to the off field commercial side of the club’s business #GoesWitboutSaying I know 🤔

I think the most important thing is to buy the freehold of the ground whilst it's on the table. If by some miracle we could pay Surrey FA to leave too, that would make it a gold mine for us.

Other projects can follow on when the time and the finances are right

Agreed, relegation will mean reduced attendances and revenue. However they may pick up again if the home form is better!

Not sure why we couldn't of brought in a winger on loan for a month or so.

Pure guesswork but I think we are absolutely skint Gary. Marc mentioned on a BoA episode I watched a week ago about us being half a million quid over budget which he would have to find. He's more than once rued going out the FA Cup so meekly, which was a financial disaster.

And he has several off field projects he really would like to see done - buying the Meadowbank freehold being really important so we're not basically subsidizing Surrey FA's activities

I see that we've said Chesterfield have sold over 900 tickets.

And if they sell 100 more there will be a £750 bar kitty for their fans.

After tax and averaging out concessions etc I guess 1000 away tickets sold is about 10 - 12 grand for the club, so you can see why we try and cultivate away interest. And that's before beer and food sales!

You just don't get that sort of away support in the NLS (Maidstone and perhaps Torquay excepted)

I know we are skint, but I just wondered if an Academy player would be a good fit. Under 21/23.

Interestingly, last night in the new BoA episode of the Dagenham game back in November, Marc said that we would bring in 2-3 players in January. We ended up signing Hollis a week or so after that game but then nothing since...

@dorking-eagle Appreciate missing out on FA Cup would leave a big hole for a club this size and the manner in which we were knocked out was so frustrating, but this reads like another excuse from Marc. Surely he wouldn't be naive enough to plan a budget around qualifying for a competition we so far haven't managed to do yet?

As Marc said recently (can't remember if it was on a BoA or one of his other updates) ultimately when there's a big hole in the budget it has to be found by him. So he himself is the ultimate fallback option.

I think he certainly planned for c£100k of income from the FA Cup, that would have been a reasonable assumption (I believe Horsham made £120k from reaching Round 2 including 1 game on tv)

The players were on a big bonus each to beat Horsham, almost in total more than we'd have made from the prize money for winning in that round. The lucky coat came out and everything, Marc couldn't have tried harder but all the weaknesses we are more than familiar with now were exploited.

The Dagenham game was a month after the FA Cup exit and even then he was saying that they would look to bring in 2-3 players in January. I'm guessing other projects took priority...
