Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
And here it is, to be played on Sat 14 October:
Horsham v Dorking Wanderers.
A local derby! And surely a chance to put our FA hoodoo to bed???
Don't want to tempt fate but hearing rumours of a very measly allocation for Horsham away in the cup.
Whilst I doubt there is much of a criteria to buy home end tickets if need be, we'd all want to be in the away end really.
If what I have heard is true then it will be imperative that the club prioritise ticket allocation to the regular fans who travel to away fans up and down the country week after week (mostly up the country at the moment to be fair!)

@dorking-eagle I'd certainly be in favour of first priority given to the merry band of 70 or so who go to every single away game - regardless! But that could be tricky to sort.
How many season ticket holders do we have?
Regulations state 15% min - so 300 odd?
We've got stacks of season ticket holders, way more than what we're looking like being allocated.
Then you've got odd situation that not all the 'merry band of 70' are season ticket holders - my Mrs isn't a S/T holder, yet she has done Mousehole, Chesterfield and Oldham aways for example. And I know another adult and child who have been to most of the aways on the coach yet aren't season ticket holders either! So it's potentially a right mess however they do it.

That would be too much like common sense lol.
Personally I'd say just sell all the tickets in one place online and let people select if they are home or away. Then when the ground is sold out, split the ground depending on the numbers of each. I am sure there are good reasons why that wouldn't work of course, but essentially when Dorking do online ticketing the number of away fans that actually want to buy tickets dictates the size of their allocation (up to a sensible but generous limit of course)

Ticket allocation is tricky isn't it? Of the 70 or so regular away fans about half travel using the heavily subsidised coach so it could be argued that priority goes to those who paid their own way.
Personally I think priorities should be:
Priority 1: Platinum Package and Premium Package owners.
Priority 2: Gold Card Season ticket holders
Priority 3: Season ticket holders
So if there are only 3-400 tickets available for Dorking fans, what are the chances of a non season ticket holder getting one?
@bigfatbeanz Not much I'd imagine. Guess it depends a bit if it's selected for live TV - that could make a difference.

Thanks AdeB
Fingers crossed then 👍
Sorry, should have included Champion Package owners at Priority 2.
This is a small club with a small but already loyal following.
I am sure the club personally know who the supporters are who attend home AND away games regularly they see them in person up and down the country. Few clubs at our level have such a personal connection between club and fans.
The club will do right by those fans I have no doubt. We are Wanderers.

Unless Horsham provide DW with a bulk allocation it's academic because we'll have to purchase direct from Horsham and it will be first come first served.
@dorkingtyke Yep. And nothing to stop us moving quickly and buying in the Horsham end if need be. Appreciate that's not ideal - but needs must and all that.

Does Horsham have "Ends"?
I seem to remember you were just free to wander as you wish.
Presume they won't have segregation of supporters.
Is there not a possibility that if the tickets are purchased from Horsham Town instead of through the club, they know who the majority of their own "fans" are?
Horsham's (relatively new) ground has always operated 'unsegregated'. However they do have an 'extra' pair of turnstiles in the SE corner of the ground (which are not usually used) should segregation be required.
Of course if full segregation is in place then Horsham would also need to have separate toilets and refreshments within the segregated area.
Regardless of whether segregation is in place or not, Dorking Wanderers are entitled to an allocation for their supporters etc (circa 15% of capacity I believe). I understand that DW do hope to be allowed to manage the access to their allocation of tickets, however this has not yet been agreed.
