After a midweek postponement at York, we face Gateshead at Meadowbank on Saturday. Gateshead put 6 past us back in November but fortunes have changed for them since then as they've seen their first team squad decimated by a mixture of transfers, loan recalls and injury. They come in to the game with 1 win from their last 5 matches.

On the injury front, Marc said post-match on Saturday that Jimmy Muitt should return to the squad. You would also expect Alfie Rutherford to return to the side after his loan spell at Weymouth came to an end. Briggs and McShane continue to miss out through injury but no word yet on Barry Fuller after he limped off late against Macclesfield. Isaac Philpot will be absent after he joined Horsham on a short term loan deal and you would expect Luke Moore to be suspended (not sure if it was appealed or not?).

Predictions:

Dorking 2-1 Gateshead (Prior, Carter)

1,768 att.

                                    Male

            Francomb          Craig         B.Taylor

   Blair              J.Taylor         Pybus            Bowerman

                                   Carter

                          Prior        Rutherford

Subs: Hollis, Gallagher, McManus, Muitt, Ottaway

I like BJT in that left back position because he has more pace than Hollis, especially for Gateshead. Hoping with the problems that Gateshead have had, and we haven't used up our defeat-to-win card, yet, we will have a good showing.

Dorking 2 -1 Gateshead (Rutherford, Blair).

On a side note, I'll actually be at this game and the Dagenham & Redbridge game on Tuesday (got a spot on the coach). Looking forward to the experience. First set of games since I started following Dorking a year and half ago. See y'all there!

@robh Yeah, I figure Bobby would be best for that left of the 3 position considering how Gateshead play. Although, I think Gateshead will struggle to play their normal football on our pitch.

I don't remember Gateshead being a particularly big side either so not as much need for Hollis.

Enjoy the games! Getting the train/tube seemed cheaper for me so not on the coach for the Dagenham one.

@calvertskans What's Gateshead's style of play and why doesn't it suit the pitch?

Just watched Marc's weekly update & feeling positive for tomorrow's game

2-1 Wanderers (Carter 2)

A draw wouldn't be awful though 😉

@sddwfc Yeah I would probably take a draw considering current form.

Also, Luke Moore's suspension is confirmed as 4 games so won't be back until Altrincham away.

Anyone else a little surprised Philpot was allowed to leave on loan when Fuller has done his hamstring and out for several weeks?

Also, Josh Taylor is 1 yellow card away from a 2 game ban which is always a worry...

I will there tomorrow after Crawley's game at Wimbledon was postponed.Hoping to see a good performance and first Dorking win for me this season. I am going for 2-1 (both Taylors). 1435 crowd (39 Gateshead).

@calvertskans yes his departure joins Arron Kuhl's as ones I cannot figure out....especially Kuhl - all those injuries, and we really need someone winning midfield battles...

Part of my love for football at this level are days like today anything could happen!?!

Dorking 3 -1 win, but I'm slightly worried I might have cursed us today I've got a friend and his son coming today for rare visit last time they came was pre season!

With @TomCalvert’s team selection I would be pretty positive about today. Strongest team for a good while and an opportunity to play football against a team who will also do so. Should be a good game then. Of course, anything can happen, but I’m going 2-1 win. Blair and Prior.

Agree on the Philpot loan - need all the back up we can with Barry’s hamstring…
