After a midweek postponement at York, we face Gateshead at Meadowbank on Saturday. Gateshead put 6 past us back in November but fortunes have changed for them since then as they've seen their first team squad decimated by a mixture of transfers, loan recalls and injury. They come in to the game with 1 win from their last 5 matches.

On the injury front, Marc said post-match on Saturday that Jimmy Muitt should return to the squad. You would also expect Alfie Rutherford to return to the side after his loan spell at Weymouth came to an end. Briggs and McShane continue to miss out through injury but no word yet on Barry Fuller after he limped off late against Macclesfield. Isaac Philpot will be absent after he joined Horsham on a short term loan deal and you would expect Luke Moore to be suspended (not sure if it was appealed or not?).

Predictions:

Dorking 2-1 Gateshead (Prior, Carter)

1,768 att.

                                    Male

            Francomb          Craig         B.Taylor

   Blair              J.Taylor         Pybus            Bowerman

                                   Carter

                          Prior        Rutherford

Subs: Hollis, Gallagher, McManus, Muitt, Ottaway

The team looked more organised on Saturday than they had for a while. We also were able to play to our individual strengths and it showed: e.g. Bobby Joe a constant threat with his long ball quality making him a stand out, Pybus assured at the back, Jimmy Muitt a handful cutting inside, JP giving it to officials and his own teammates when necessary 🤣 . Felt like the Dorking we know was back.

I know heavy defeats can be demoralising but we have proven time and again we can overcome them. A second win this week would be huge.
