Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
A trip to a Hemel side in freefall tonight as they currently sit in 17th place after not having won a game since early September. They have 11 defeats and 2 draws since then...
Jason Prior limped off in the first half against Enfield with a hamstring injury so you would expect him to miss the game. Marc mentioned in the post match that Rob Milsom should return tonight. Josh Brooking remains suspended for one more game.
Predictions:
Hemel Hempstead 1-2 Dorking (Carter, Rutherford)
601 att. (82 away)
Foulkes
Camp Craig Milsom
Briggs Gallagher Williams Norville-Williams
Young Carter
Rutherford
Subs: Francomb, Myles, Muitt, Randall, Alexandrou
Think we might have to play a 3-4-3 / 3-6-1 tonight without Prior. I assume Gallagher and Williams will both start considering that they only played 45 mins each on Saturday. Might be a good one to rest Jimmy and give Briggs a start after his cameo against Enfield.
ost away games we have been to have been less for tickets, only Torquay have charged more than our £18
As an aside, Dagenham v Dorking tonight is an eye watering £25...
(v Aldershot)
Dagenham have always done that to away fans - they only give away fans seats, and in the newest stand. And home fans can go on a terrace for quite a bit less.
One of the 2 times Dorking played there it was a fiver a ticket as it was their annual chaity day to be fair.
I appreciate Crawley prices are an exception in League One, but I guess they are trying to maximise their attendances. Also it should be a factor locally when trying to tempt local floating fans.
For balance the Black Friday week season ticket prices at DW are excellent - just over a tenner a game. DW could (and prob will) charge more than that for season tickets in the Spring and still get people paying it.
"Why would I leave to join a League Two club? We're going there anyway!" - Marc White
Agree the Black Friday adult season tickets are a good deal for next season, and at this price are a lot less than Crawley's was in their Early Bird window. I believe they include B games and women's matches, whereas Crawley only have one team.! However, the concession and U18 price is still more expensive than at Crawley. If Dorking wants to attract new fans I feel they need to look at concession and U18 prices. Both Horsham and Crawley give a £5 deduction on match day prices for concessions (although Horsham is over 65) whereas Dorking only gives £2. For U8 Dorking charge £5 while U16 are £3 at Horsham and U14 are free with an adult at Crawley where they trying to attract the next generation of fans.
It always amazes me how early Dorking start selling season tickets. It seems to get earlier every year. Good marketing by the club, and I assume they are trying to get as much money into the club as early possible. It always annoys Crawley fans how late season tickets come available for the new season. I normally have to wait until early June before I can buy mine in the Early Bird window for the new season.
I believe that was our biggest away win since a 7-0 win against Crowborough Athletic in the FA Cup back in August 2014!
Some stats from the game:
Possession: Hemel 34% - 66% Dorking
xG: Hemel 0.83 - 3.03 Dorking (Funnily enough we actually had a higher xG when we beat Hemel at home 3-2!)
Shots (On Target): Hemel 7 (3) - 22 (13) Dorking
Passess (Accurate): Hemel 181 (118) - 573 (479)
Top Performer: Alfie Rutherford [9.3]
