It's that time again - local rivals Horsham away in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. Last year saw a horrific 2-0 defeat against a depleted Wanderers XI but let's hope this years depleted Wanderers XI can fare better.

The Horsham side contains two ex-Wanderers in the form of Isaac Philpot and Charlie Hester-Cook, while Sami El-Abd remains as a coach.

Brennan Camp, Aaron Kuhl, Luke Moore and James McShane remain mid to longer term absentees while you would expect Barry Fuller and Jordan Norville-Williams to miss out also. Rhys Murphy is expected to come back to the side but there is no news on the worrying injury thta Josh Taylor suffered against Weymouth. Bobby-Joe Taylor apparently serves the last game of his suspension even though he already has missed the last 3 matches. Josh Brooking is apparently also unlikely to feature to avoid being cup-tied.

Predictions

Horsham 1-1 Dorking (Craig)

2,674 att.

                           Foulkes

          Francomb     Craig      Gallagher

Briggs        Pybus         McManus       Bowerman

                            Carter

                    Prior          Murphy

Subs: Cahusac, Brown, Wooster, Myles, Muitt, Rutherford, Rawlins

I reckon Briggs will be rewarded with a start after some really good recent performances. Pace of our back 3 really concerns me and we don't really have any other options if they pick up an injury...

@dorking-eagle

I stand corrected so its only been 3 years we have not won a single game in the FA cup. Still very poor.

@jacksonfairweather I think the Trophy can still matter. A good run generates both excitement and revenue, and if we were to make the final that would be unbelievably good publicity...and what a day out.

Chesterfield away would have awaited us in the 1st round. Not as exciting as Barnsley away last season.

Worth noting that Maidstone United have an away FA Cup tie at either Altrincham or Solihull a few days before they play us on the Tuesday night at Meadowbank. Can only be a good thing for us, however that game could be postponed if Maidstone get a replay.
