Rather than using all the match threads, let's put injury crisis discussion in one location.

Current injuries and expected returns:

Brennan Camp (Shoulder) - 8-10 weeks

George Francomb (Groin) - ~1 week

Jordan Norville-Williams (Hamstring) - Unknown but can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks

Callum Kennedy (???) - ???

Jimmy Muitt (Calf) - ~1 week

Seb Bowerman (Hamstring) - ~1 week

Bobby-Joe Taylor (Suspended) - 1 more match

Josh Taylor (Foot) - Unknown

Luke Moore (MCL) - 6-8 weeks

Aaron Kuhl (MCL) - 6-8 weeks

Jason Prior (Knee) - 1-2 weeks

Rhys Murphy (Groin) - 1-2 weeks

James McShane (ACL) - 2+ months

Which leaves just the 9 fit senior players currently...

Harrison Foulkes

Barry Fuller

Tony Craig

Dan Gallagher

Matt Briggs

Niall McManus

Dan Pybus

Charlie Carter

Alfie Rutherford

I thought Marc said that Jason could still play. Even though he's having trouble jumping.

Always backed JP9 but he needs to recover.

@calvertskans Rob Milsom 37 played for Sutton Utd in the EFL. Free agent. Club are having a look at him. Left sided defender

Josh Taylor confirmed to be out for 8-10 weeks with ankle ligament damage.

Not so fun fact - since the start of the 22/23 season, we have played 17 games without Josh Taylor, winning just five and drawing one. All five wins were very narrow and unconvincing wins and four of them were at home:

0-1 v Barnet

1-1 v Eastleigh

3-2 v Kidderminster

3-2 v Maidstone

2-1 v Scunthorpe

2-1 v Aldershot

Even with Kuhl returning in a couple of weeks, I really feel like we need to sign cover in that CM position...

@calvertskans

Josh is a real ball carrying centre mid, which is something no one else in the team can do. He gains ground centrally, with the game in front of him and can advance the attack to the next phase. If we do not have him it is a single point of failure.

I agree, we need someone fitting that bill on loan at least to cover his absence, otherwise results will seriously suffer.

He is a great lad but doesn't play a higher level because he doesn't score any goals, so hopefully something similar around the level can be found? It is out there, but can it be found in budget?

@jacksonfairweather Agreed. He's exactly the sort of player we really need at the moment - plays through the centre. Also shows how much we miss a certain Mr McShane. And he scored goals, too.

As expected, left sided defender Rob Milsom signs. We've desperately missed having a left footed defender on that side of the back three in the absence of Norville-Williams, B.Taylor and Kennedy.

He's also a free kick and penalty specialist, another thing we've desperately needed. We haven't scored a free kick for 961 days!

Incredibly, we've only scored 1 penalty at Meadowbank since Boxing Day 2021...

That's a really odd one. You'd have thought a team that likes to make runs into the box would've been awarded at least a few more..

I remember JP missing a penalty as I would have won the Golden Goal if he scored it!

@calvertskans those are crazy stats. Hopefully we can start winning a few dangerous dead ball situations 😂

Last penalty we scored at Meadowbank was Prior v Woking (April 2023) - we've missed 3 others in this period (Moore, Kennedy, Prior)

Last direct free kick we scored (home or away) was Oldaker v Oxford City (January 2022)

I assume we don't win as many penalties due to the fact that most of our play is out wide so we don't actually get that many touches in the penalty area compared to most teams. Pretty sure Wrexham had like 15+ penalties during the season they won the National League...

With 3 recent signings, I am glad to see Marc has realised he needs to increase the size of the squad  to cover the amount of injuries.

Fuller and Francomb picked up injuries in training but no mention of how serious. Hopefully only minor ones and they'll be back after the 2 week break. No word on McManus or Muitt.

Sounds like Norville-Williams is fit but won't be risked until after the break. Kuhl and Moore 4-6 weeks away but the big news is that Camp will be back in 3-4 weeks!

Hazards of having older players around.

Interesting the team have a (presume BCD) friendly at Wycombe on Tuesday the following week, good chance to really see where everyone is at
