We move on from the dissapointment of Tuesday night to another away game agaist Maidenhead United. They currently sit in 19th place, 1 point ahead of Dorking after 1 win and 4 losses in their last 5 games.

Dorking will be without Josh Taylor for the next 2 games after picking up his 10th yellow of the season. Matt Briggs will likely be out for at least a few weeks after picking up another hamstring injury on Tuesday night, while Barry Fuller was also replaced with a dead leg.

Predictions

Maidenhead 1-1 Dorking (Prior)

1,344 att.

                                Male

          Francomb       Craig       Hollis

  Muitt           McManus      Pybus           Blair

                               Carter

                     Prior         Rutherford

Subs: Cook, B.Taylor, Moore, Bowerman, Ottaway

A slightly easier to pick team due to some of the recent injuries but will be interesting to see if Marc goes with a back 3 or 4. If it is a back 4 then I would expect Bobby to come in for Prior or Alfie. Cook may play if Francomb isn't fit.

I have a feeling Bowerman might get a start. Tom Blair has given a lot over the past weeks and might need a rest.

Maidenhead (0)1 Dorking (1) 3 Rutherford (2), Carter

1,108 (119 from Surrey, no added northerners but including my Millwall season ticket holder mate coming along for the ride and obviously following the Wanderers)

@adeb I think Bobby would be a more likely candidate to replace Blair as it means we could play a back 4 out of possession. I do expect to see Seb get some minutes though with Briggs out injured.

Forgot to predict an away number so i'll go with 134.

I think he will go with a back 3  as I doubt they are as quick on the counter, good idea to play Bobby so out of possession it's a back 4. Only if they are discipline and not all over the place, plus playing Pybus, it's a back 5. But I'm not sure about Pybus defending on Tuesday wasn't picking anyone up.

Also I'm going for a away draw.

With no segregation in place, the only fans they will 'count' as Dorking fans are those who purchase in advance online and select that they are away fans.

So I reckon

Maidenhead 1 Dorking Wdrs 2

I would go for either Cook or BJ Taylor in defence, otherwise defence looks rather lacking in pace. Hopefully Bowerman gets some minutes.  Brings now out for season as had surgery on hamstring tear, so need other wingers all fit.

Marc seems quite positive in his mid week update so I am going for 2-1 win. As he says win 1 game in 2 to end of season should be enough.

I like Marc's idea of tackling 2 games at a time. I would definitely take 4 points from this Maidenhead/Southend away double header!

@AdeB it looks like it is same price on the gate, but there may be queues.

I would expect a tight game. Marc seems stuck on starting 3 at the back, but I’d be tempted to go for a 4-5-1 with Alfie up top to start.  Muitt looked dangerous when he came in last week so should get a start but I expect Bowerman to get some minutes too.

1-1  Rutherford

Is there anything useful to know before travelling (by train)? It looks fairly straight forward to find from the station

Maidenhead 1 - 3 Dorking

Just watched the post match interview. Was the first fan in the ground at 1pm and one of the last to leave it and genuinely didn't hear what songs are being referred to by Marc, unless they were sung at the tunnel perhaps at the end of the game (???) which I wasn't there.

What I did see was a needlessly unsegregated ground (not wise when it has a large teenage support there due to cheap prices, and with our fans set upon by the home fans after Maidenhead scored their first, some of our fans punched, slow reactions by the stewards to segregate it properly, even slower reactions by the police and then all the Dorking fans rightly got the hell away from the Maidenhead fans who were intent on being a nuisance rather than stay where they would likely be further set upon.

Then the stewards and police allowed the Maidenhead fans come round to the Dorking fans again well before the end of the first half (on purpose) to annoy and provoke reactions.

The w**k fans were the Maidenhead ones and 99.9% of the Dorking fans were a credit from what I saw.

Racking my brains to think what song he could mean?

Maidenhead sang to us 'who did you support before?' (or similar) and Dorking fans sang back 'We're all from Dorking, who the xxxx are you' - surely he doesn't mean that? And if he does is he serious with the constant bad language he uses

Is Marc White aware that when Maidenhead scored their fans charged into the Dorking fans and punched at least 2 of them in the face? Then when Dorking quickly equalised they pushed and shoved again into Dorking fans again until stewards managed to push them back?

Its only thanks to people like Terry amongst the Dorking support keeping Dorking fans from massively retaliating otherwise it'd have been like a wild west saloon bar brawl.

I hope someone puts Marc right because I don't like the tarring of us with a negative brush when our lot behaved with incredible restraint, plus were positive and supportive to the players to final whistle. We'll be at Southend supporting and encouraging the boys and all the other games home and away and we're 100% better than almost every other club I've been to in this division.
