Now the dust has settled on Chesterfield, how does everyone feel about the first home game on Saturday?

I would imagine that after the week of training and rest (but with injuries) we will have to change the line up. Any suggestions as to who plays where?

I would perhaps go with Gallagher into the back three, Kuhl in the middle and starting with Seb on the left as the main changes to Saturday. Whilst Fuller isn't as adept on the left, he started there Saturday and also allows Kuhl into the line up without leaving Dan out. With Maidenhead letting a two goal lead slip (their social media suggests they were fortunate to hang on) this is a game we should be on the front foot.

3-1 again would do very nicely!

Strong team announced with Kuhl picked - presumably in holding role. I think he will be good there, getting on the ball and picking a pass.  Seb gets the nod over Bobby Joe - whoever is playing best deserves the spot for me

Gutted by that result. Some brief moments of flair and strong tactics, but overall a poor performance. Couldn't break them down. Maidenhead showed a really strong defensive side.

Yep, worst performance for some time.
 I couldn’t work out the tactics at times, particularly in first half. The formation was 3-1-0-6 with the ball but few quality balls forward.  The wide men never really got in the ball to have a go at them.  But credit to Maidenhead - they defended really well. Their No 5 won everything and set up first goal too.
We go again on Tuesday needing a better performance….

Agree, with a lot of the above, poor performance all round

Balance of the side looked wrong, lots of attacking players on the pitch but nobody in midfield to provide for them

Always think we look better when Harry Otdog plays too and he was a bright spark in the second half

Maidenhead very organised and good defensively

 …. we go again Tuesday 🐔 ⚽️

@baggy Too many square pegs in round holes,Gallagher not a left back,Fuller not a right winger,Mcshane not a central midfielder and Seager not a footballer

@Marc Whites sweatbox - agree on the pegs theory but a bit harsh on Seager! I thought he had a decent first half but agree @SDDWFC that  the Ot Dog always holds the ball up well. Finest chest in the division!

Not sure it's the worst performance but I think it could be a normal performance this season.

Gallagher is never a left back, Stevie Wonder could see that.  Sorry to say this  but his 1 of the favourites so he  has to play

No shape today at times Mcshane was playing so deep  I thought he was in goal,  Kuhl was playing right back because Fuller was on the half way line.

No left back at the club, at least put  BJ Taylor there have some believe.

Callum Kennedy has been at the club nearly 3 years and has only made 24 appearances what's going on!!

Sorry for being a bit negative but I think it's need sorting quickly, only 2 games gone I know but let's get it sorted.

@sddwfc

Forget about clean sheets, Dorking Wanderers will never keep them, we need 1pt or 3pt end of.

@marc-whites-swearbox

Also agree with the peg theory.

I thought Seager was the best of a bad bunch up top to be honest,  made runs behind.  I would of kept him on with Prior and Ottaway, taken Mcshane off and gone

3-4-3

I agree with a lot of the points made. It looked lopsided and disjointed at times. I can understand Kuhl coming in and Dan being on the left, but it does minimize the direction of play - looking inside instead of a clip down the line to Seb. There is a lack of left footed players in the middle which also means that switch isnt always easy or a direction change - it was the same when Wheeler was at the club, a lot of the service to him was limited due to the direction of the midfielder in possession of the ball.

It is two games however, and the good thing is we have an immediate chance to try and put things right on Tuesday evening. I know Southend have had a good start - but again, it is two games. Lets stay positive and get behind the players, and management and move on. Was good to see Niall come on, hopefully he is past the worst of his injury now and some others to come back. It is the start of a long season - bar Oxford City, I dont think many would have predicted the other three clubs in the bottom four at this stage (nor at the end of the season!).

I really hope not - if that's a 'normal performance' we'd have little chance of staying up, let alone hitting the play offs.

For me something wasn't right about yesterday. It felt 'flat' from the off. Even the Bank seemed quieter than normal but maybe I'm imagining that.

Players seemed tired too, a little lacking in spirit, very unusual for us - which has got me thinking about Marc's influence in the dressing room and on the touchline.

First half wasn't too bad - more a case of struggling to break them down. Second half however we seemed to run out of steam very, very quickly.

And a little disappointing to see a mass exodus when the opposition scores, I know it was 90+6 and all over but that also felt wrong - and not like our usual reaction.

Let's hope for a big reaction on Tuesday!
