We visit the Gallagher Stadium tomorrow to face 7th placed Maidstone United. The Stones have been in indifferent form recently and have slipped to 8 points off the top of the table with just 2 wins in their last 7 games.
No obvious injury issues from the Chelmsford game which suggests we might see a similar side once again. Marc did mention that certain players were left out on Saturday with one eye on Tuesday so we may see the likes of Murphy and Francomb return to the squad.
Predictions
Maidstone 1-1 Dorking (Prior)
2,729 att (340 away)
Foulkes
Camp Craig Milsom
Muitt J.Taylor Gallagher Norville-Williams
Carter
Prior Rutherford
Subs: Francomb, Briggs, Young, Williams, Murphy
Maidstone (1) 2 Dorking (1) 3 (Rutherford 2, Prior)
2,601 (280 Wands)
Expect Maidstone to raise their game tomorrow after recent up and down form. Can’t see beyond a score draw, maybe another 2 all.
I think it will be an attacking game tonight, lots of chances at both ends. Hope fully we will get the luck that wasn’t there on Saturday.
Maidstone 2 Dorking 4.
Murphy should get on - being saved for tonight so as not to risk a small niggle on Saturday apparently.
This should be a fun game. Maybe a high scoring game? 2 Maidstone and 4 Dorking.
I would take a 4-2 win for sure Rob!

Key game here. I think we win it 3-2 in a thriller. Our away form has been exceptional and this will keep us in the automatic promotion race.
Thought we were definitely the only team that was going to win it, but missed the chance to get a two goal lead that would have been enough to hold on to.
Unlike at Welling, Hornchurch, didn't quite hold on.
Will be a very tall order to go up as champions really - to win a division where there is only one automatic place you usually have to be dominant and win game after game. Or be incredibly lucky in a situation like this where it's a packed field.
Torquay>Boreham Wood>Eastbourne up next, I think we will know if it's play offs or a fight for 1st at the end of those three.
I see Truro sitting in second, if they stay there it means the play-off winner would have to go there at some point. Grrr.

@dorking-eagle Yep dropping points at home to midtable cannon fodder like Chelmsford and then failing to win away when ahead, really does mean our automatic chances are now gone unless the team can literally win 8 games in a row. Which lets face it is highly unlikely. There are 5 other teams all in a photo finish so it will take literally 8 wins in a row to get 1st now.
So near! What a fantastic team goal that was and deserved to win any game. I guess it’s always a toss up whether to stick or twist when one up late in the game. Mostly we have held out well this season and tbh Maidstone we’re very long ball and did not look a big threat.
At Hampton we conceded without making any subs; last night the subs seemed to disrupt things when playing well, although i see Marc said they were knackered.
Really enjoyed the game on my first visit to a pretty impressive ground. Really need to find some home form now in next couple of games.

Considering we have a fully fit squad to choose from pretty much, I was actually surprised how poor our bench was last night. With Murphy and Briggs not really fit, it felt like we didn't really have any attacking options to influence the game. I've said it before but we never replaced Bowerman and it really shows at times.
Obviously dissapointing to concede late on but I would have taken a point in isolation away at Maidstone on a Tuesday night. I actually think we're more likely to beat Boreham Wood away considering it is a much less intimidating place and has a great grass pitch. We should hopefully win our home games against Torquay and Eastbourne as well so I wouldn't rule us out from the title quite yet. We really need some favours from the sides playing Worthing and Truro over these next few weeks though.
As for the matchday experience - the most thorough search I have ever had, more thorough than Liverpool and Man United!
"Can I check inside your wallet"!!!
No idea how they would expect people to see if there was 400 in that away end, luckily we had just shy of 300 I would say, but even then there were people milling about at the back of the flat standing trying to crane to see over those along the front rail. You couldn't move for fear of losing your place (hence why I have a reserved seat for home games, a lesson I learned at the Stockport home game years ago!)
I guess it's on a par with our away end in some respects, however I like to think that we give a generous area if we know bigger supports are coming along.
I think in hindsight Maidstone could have given us the whole end terrace.
Expect a similar experience at Worthing to be honest.

Yep - too many games drawing when leading now - Hampton, F'boro, Chelmsford and now Maidstone with 2 of those last minute. Those 8 points now would obviously make all the difference.
Thought we were mostly excellent - were the subs (esp. Alfie which seemed to change the flow) definitely down to tiredness or trying to hang on (which imo would be crazy on 65 mins)..?
As an aside, whilst the ground is impressive (on 2 sides) they really need to re-think the away arrangements - pretty sure we didn't sell out but it was so packed in there, verging on dangerous behind the goal as I know a few fans took some knocks when we scored.
Worthing averaging 2pts a game or thereabouts means they are on course for 92
I don't get this 'don't look at the league table and games in hand' theory ....
If Worthing don't get 92pts, then someone else will, as there are so many other clubs close by too.
it is reality with DW having 8 games left, that to hit 93 pts we need 7 wins and a draw from those 8 games
The mission now is to get as many points and finish as high as possible
Whilst our pitch is utter crap and doesn't give us a great home advantage ON the pitch, being at home for the play off matches would give us a huge advantage OFF the pitch (ie in the stands)
We saw last time round what a huge advantage it was having only 200 Oxford City fans in the ground, and then having a cauldron of atmosphere for the final.
If we do get home play-offs I would go as far as to say that we should initially give any away team only the minimum allocation they are entitled to, and go all out to pack out the home sections with as many DW fans as possible, only giving the away supports a generous allocation (like we did for Ebbsfleet) only if we really cannot sell out the home sections.
Finally a bit off topic, how nice it was to see Alan and Matt on our turnstiles last night. Immediately after those intrusive and OTT searches it was lovely to see friendly and welcoming faces which was the perfect antidote.

@jacksonfairweather Yes last night's results were not good for us. We need to get as many points as possible now to ensure we finish at least 3rd or preferably 2nd. I feel the title may be beyond us with Worthing's form and their game in hand.
