Wise move. No sign of an imminent Muitt return, Briggsy sadly injured again, it's what we need. Good of Kingy to let this player come to us, have a feeling he might be in for one or two of ours - he does admire Jebb for example.

@dorking-eagle Briggs was up at Oldham running on the pitch before the match so wouldn't imagine it would be too long before he is back?

Blair signing was needed though as we never really replaced Wheeler and it always felt like we were a winger short. We've desperately needed a proper winger on the right in these last few games.

Have to agree that it wouldn't surprise me if we saw Jebb go the other way at some point soon. Maybe someone like Cook as well if he's still frozen out.

Interesting signing, not sure why Steve King would  let him go if he was half decent, he started every game for the Hawks. Time will tell.

I would like to know where young Everitt has gone. I still think we are a striker short personally.

So this season we've signed 6:

Harrison Male

Jaevon Dyer (since gone out on loan)

Dan Pybus

Matt Everitt

Alex Lankshear

Tom Blair

(correct me if I have missed any off)

of course we also have Alfie Rutherford and Jimmy Muitt to return from long term injuries / medical issues (when they return they'll feel like new signings)

I get the feeling that as good opportunities arise, we are doing a major squad overhaul (by our standards). DW don't usually really do a huge turnover of playing staff do they!

The players we are bringing in do seem to be a fair bit younger than what we have kept hold of many years - youth coming in over (very senior) experience.

I wonder if the loyal old guard - Fuller, Mooro, Prior, maybe even McShane and McManus could be in their last season at the club?? Just throwing it out there!

@dorking-eagle I do with the list of players for their last season except McManus, I think he could be used as a squad player.

I would also put Gallagher in that list as well, not to old but done as much as he can at this level.

Also where as Lankshear gone?

Lankshear is only on loan from Blackpool of course. Early error soon after he came on at Woking cost us a goal. Could be like Pattenden and Quick last season, only here for the short term to fill a gap?

@dorking-eagle can't see the point in that, we don't want to get reputation of not using loan players properly.

@dorking-eagle Also worth noting that Kennedy is back from injury now which will limit Lankshear's playing time. Bobby-Joe will often play there as well.

I disagree on Gallagher, he's such a versatile player and rarely has poor games. Would definitely be in my squad if we went full time next season.

Can't remember who I said it to, but as predicted, Jebb has gone to Kingy's Havant for the rest of the season.

Hope it goes well for him, I knew Kingy was an admirer of his for a while.

Makes sense for Jebb to go as clearly Marc had no faith in him. I thought he wasn’t given a fair chance. A good passer of the ball, if a little over ambitious at times. We need players who are comfortable on the ball and can hold their physically. But Pybus is in that role now so opportunities for Jebb were going to be scarce.

Best of luck to him.

Is there any word on Cook? Are we just trying to off load him? I have to agree with @calvertskans concerning Dan G. He has shown a lot of improvement over last season. Less mistakes. I think he is growing into the National League Level- I wonder how much TC has helped him with his development. Also, I think Marc has mentioned in a couple of his interviews about bringing the age down of the squad. Pyrbus has fit so well into the squad. It feels as though the signings are all about moving the squad to full time.

From today's Dorking Advertiser:

- Rutherford due to go to Bognor 'next weekend' for 'a month or so',

- Muitt expected to go on loan to regain his fitness, 'when he's completed a few weeks of training',

- Fuller and Moore 'are probably 4 weeks away from training',

- Cook has been carrying a knee injury and is expected to go on loan to gain fitness, 'He's had tendonitis',

- "The Dan Pybus signing was a masterstroke' said White, 'he is really good' 'the two Dans (Pybus and Gallagher) are building up a formidable midfield partnership, they're similar players' 'I always wanted to go for a bit of a double pivot because our goals conceded has been poor. Things are definitely looking up'

Thanks for the update @Dorking Eagle. Those are some big holes in the squad for quite a while.

Given that, the signing of Tom Blair might also be a masterstroke. He looked great on Tuesday night and can deliver the service to Jason up front, as well as getting back to defend.

I thought Dan G had a great game too, but really as part of a back four, which plays to his strengths, rather than being exposed in the holding role in front of a back 3, which suits Pybus more than him. The last two weeks have looked more 4-4-2 at times, but I suppose they keep it flexible and respond to what the opposition are doing.  The boys seemed to get their confidence back a bit - no doubt it helps being 3-0 up! -  and were willing to play the quicker one touch stuff that you need to break down good teams.  Let's see more of the same on Saturday.
