I see they've sold over 1,000 tickets - that's an amazing number and I think way more than last season - and - not far off double what Woking managed for a half hour (or so)  drive.

Wonder why the big interest?

Hopefully we'll sell a decent number too and the attendance might be pushing 3,000.

Yeah, really impressive support by Oldham. Fully expect a 3000+ crowd considering we had 3700ish for the Woking game last year when they took 1350 fans.

The owner, Frank, said something to us at the game in September about trying to break the away attendance record. Can't remember exactly what he said though.

Oldham are a very good away side at the moment so this will be tough...

Oldham fan here, I come in peace....576 tickets sold as of Tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm for our trip to your ground. Looking forward to this one having not visited before. All the best

Apparently only allocated 900 tickets just now. Assume more will be available if they sell these out

Interestingly their website says “Official coach travel will unfortunately not be running for this game due to the expected take-up and overall losses incurred on coach travel so far this season”.

@monkeechops Hi - and welcome. That figure sounds realistic, not sure why we announced that it was close to 1,000 - maybe they meant that was the allocation?

@adeb cheers bud. We'll bring a noisy crowd so the atmosphere will be there.

We had a good chat with Flat Cap Frank at Oldham and he bought us a pretty decent pie I recall. I am sure Marc will return the hospitality somehow or other.

Look forward to welcoming you all @monkeechops to Dorking; and to a slightly better result than last January!

@baggy as a northerner we tend to be partial to a pie or two. Whats the situation at Dorking Wanderers for pies? Asking for a friend, cough cough

No pies sold inside the ground, it's all about the burgers and hot dogs. All the chippy's in town sell pies though.

Seen Marc being really welcoming in the post match interview on Saturday and again in todays match tweet.

Looks like we really need the money that a decent away following brings.

Even if Oldham are our bestie friends in the division (Frank is a truly great bloke BTW), if there is going to be some sort of 'welcome gesture' I wonder if the club can target it towards spend in the ground (rather than the High Street pubs)

Don't get me wrong, whatever we do is positive for the club one way or another (positive publicity for DW, or positive relations with the High Street businesses) but if the club did get some pies in and said they were free before 2pm (to get people in the ground earlier, which increases F&B spend plus alleviates turnstile madness at 2.45) then it'd help DW's coffers more.

The trouble is that if we had 576 Oldham fans squeezed into the fanzone they would literally eat all the pies.  Even if we had some. 😀

It comes back to the point about having more pop up facilities on big match days to reduce the queues before ko and at half time.

But there are plenty of decent pubs and chippies in town @monkeechops so don’t worry!
