As a matter of interest, who on here buys a printed programme? I'm a big fan myself, a bit old school perhaps, but sometimes enjoy routing through my old Watford programmes from the late seventies and eighties (in the loft!) - and still think they're a great physical reminder and record of games attended.

Dorking's is not a bad effort at all - my one constructive piece of criticism would be the stats pages - would much prefer the old school list in one single place of; opponent, score, attendance and line up with scorers in bold. Easier to look back and see the various line ups that way...

Thoughts?

Love printed programmes. Had a load of Palace, Wimbledon and West Ham programmes and my mum bloody throw them all away!!!😡

Sorry to say I'm not a fan of Dorking's one.

I used to buy one every game but only bother for cup finals and the final game of the season these days

Agreed the old school listing of games is great for reference

@happy-hammers 🤣 Yeah I've really struggled to keep hold of mine. Now relegated to the loft space and at risk of deterioration, but any attempt to keep them in the house has so far been rejected by my better half.

Agree DWFC's needs some work, like the supporters interviews, but needs some more opinion columns and those stats (like I said) could be so much better. A good example is Wealdstone's which is a great read. Understand though that it's not the easiest thing to produce and we probably need a lot more contributors.

I am a (printed) programme enthusiast too, always have to buy one for every game and have managed to keep all mine.

My loft is a football memorabilia shrine and they are all up there but there are so many boxes it's a bit of a task accessing the ones I want to look at, as it's box after box piled on top of each other.

It's a proper loft conversion with central heating, carpet, insulation etc (it used to be a bedroom) - so they won't deteriorate up there.

Dorking's isn't the best in the division, there are stacks of adverts - Aldershot's is better in my opinion for reading content, however as has been said you need regular contributors to submit articles by frequent deadlines. The usual response in non-league is that if you want something to be better then volunteer. And as I don't really want to do that any more (I used to have an away days article back in season 2019/20) then it's still good that we get what we do get. There are far worse efforts.

The fan interview does seem to get a few 'repeats' though, Simon Edmands does them so please contact him if you want to be interviewed.

I was very happy they did a printed one for the Trophy game on Saturday as usually cup matches are 'digital only' which is a bit annoying (although there's usually someone selling printed versions of digital programmes on ebay)

And at least our programmes are usually printed. Plus I can usually get hold of a teamsheet too. Win-win.

I used to regularly buy programmes when following Palace home and away. Stopped buying them around the 2017/18 season. Have pretty much every Palace home from 1951/2 season and pretty much every away from 1958/9 season to 2017/18 season

Like You @DorkingEagle mine are in boxes in the loft all in season order. Plus have lots of other Palace bits and pieces I have collected over the years.

Used to collect Wimbledon too, only because I was given a load from my Dad's mate who used to follow them home and away from their beginnings in the football league. However I sold them all on ebay in the early 2000's and made a fair few quid.

As for Dorking's programme. I buy one occasionally just for a read when I get home. Ok it's not one of the best, but I have seen worse in this league.

Nothing worse now then a club that doesn't print a programme.

I'll have a Guinness

Yep, I'd rather pay £3 for an awful programme (NOT talking about Dorking's by the way)  than there is no programme at all to buy.

I don't buy one very often these days, but agree AdeB on the old school stats page. I like the feature on fans in the Dorking programme too (who knew Terry was a Liverpool fan?).   I have just cleared out the loft and found around 100 I have kept over the years from various games - can't bring myself to throw them away.  Maybe the early Dorking ones will have some value in years to come?
