Wanderers go for a 3rd win in a row as they face newly promoted Salisbury at Meadowbank this Saturday. Salisbury currently sit 3 points behind us in 13th place after 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 games.
Dan Pybus limped off before half time last weekend but Marc's update tomorrow should give a better idea on the injury situation. You would expect at least Josh Taylor, Brennan Camp and Luke Moore to miss the game and Tony Craig is likely suspended after his red card against Hemel.
Predictions
Dorking 2-1 Salisbury (Muitt, Rutherford)
1,532 att.
Foulkes
Brooking Francomb Milsom
Muitt McManus Pybus? Bowerman
Carter
Prior Rutherford
Subs: Gallagher, Norville-Williams, Young, B.Taylor, Alexandrou
Looking forward to the game and will probably be a tricky one as they are coming into the game with some form.
Fancy Dorking for a 2-0 win though
Injury news from today's update is a bit concerning and leaves us looking a bit short, especially in midfield. Guessing it will have to be something like this:
Foulkes
Brooking Francomb Norville-Willams
Muitt McManus Gallagher Bowerman
Young
Prior Rutherford
Subs: Fuller, B.Taylor, Brown, Myles, Alexandrou
On a side note, hopefully everything is ok with Charlie!
Got the impression it's not directly him, but a family matter. With no Tony Craig it's going to be a tough one. I am guessing 1-1.

All the best to Charlie & family ....
I am thinking the momentum will continue and we get another home win, 2-1 Wanderers (Alfie & Jimmy on the score sheet)

Looking forward to seeing Jordan down the left hopefully and the form from last Saturday. With some changes - no TC - there could be some goals. I'm going 4-3 DW win.
3-1 Dorking
I see that Salisbury can ship a fair number on the road and the team is on the up at the minute.
Dorking (2) 4 Salisbury C (1) 2 Theo, Prior (2) Muitt Brooking
1,688 (122 from Wiltshire)
I think it's going to be fun and games this afternoon, btts would seem to be the bet of the day - watch the 0-0 now!
Big welcome to the wanders for Young have a feeling he will have a big role today!
Just out of interest who gets the armband?
Dorking 4-2

If not Carter for the armband then without Tony Craig or Pybus I would say JP9??
Do Salisbury bring lots away fans? Never seen them before.

Charlie's issue (as per the pre match interview) was that his wife had their baby on Wednesday, but very prematurely and the wife is still in hospital so we wish them both all the best and obvs wish the baby the best too.

Well that was another mad game. Not quite sure what happened to change a routine and quite dull win into a goal frenzied finish, but it is two points wasted for sure against a decent but by no means devastating opposition. The first 25 minutes were really good - complete control of the game, a good goal up, without too much goal threat. But after that, Salisbury got into the game, played it around nicely at times but were largely reduced to the odd inaccurate pot shot. It was so disappointing after last week's dominant performance to see such minimal goal threat up front. But I like the way Marc has mixed it up a bit tactically, going long some of the time against quite a small side to get up the pitch before passing it down the sides.
I get the need for "game management" and resting players (especially if on a yellow) but it does seem risky to change the mindset completely at 2-0 with a few minutes left, against ten men, to drop deep, play for time etc rather than just carry on playing football and hope to get another goal. To drop deep, inviting the long high ball, and then replace Dan G with Joel Brown was an obvious mistake, as I think Marc acknowledged. But we had enough on the pitch to see the game out, especially with Francombe playing so well. Reinforcements back on Tuesday hopefully. Not sure what Marc will do with Jack Young - hard to drop him after his 2 goals and he looked a busy, forward looking player. Any sign of Murphy anyone?
I did fear the worst when we were trying to hold the ball by the corner flag in the 90th min when 2:1 up against 10 men with at least 6 mins left - seemed negative. I know I'd probably be moaning if we'd whipped a cross in instead, and it was cleared and they scored the counter attack, but it did seem overly negative to me at the time.
Bloke in front of us left just before we scored our second goal - I wonder if he still thinks it was a 1:0 win?!
Insane game. Gutted at 3-2, ecstatic at 3-3 before it sunk in what had just happened.
One observation - we seem to concede too many second half goals - don't know the stats but it certainly feels like that. Anyone any idea why, as we can't really blame an aging back 3 any more as Tony wasn't even playing..
Not even sure how to comment on that game as the end was just madness.
I will say that in general, we had comfortable control of the game and created more than enough chances to win the game comfortably. Salisbury only had 3 shots on target the whole game. However, it must be said that the subs really killed us in that last 5-10 mins. The Joel Brown for Gallagher one was really perplexing for a few reasons.
Losing the defensive ability and calmness of DG really hurt us and putting on a youngster for only his second ever league appearance in his place was obviously a mistake. I know DG was on a yellow but he had been on a yellow since the 51st minute and we were playing against 10 men. Going down to 10 men when the opposition have 10 men is much less of a concern...
The level of the rest of the subs really wasn't good enough either. As Marc said in the post match, there was nowhere near enough aggression in the defending and most of the subs that came on were playing the situation (2-0 up v 10 men with a few mins left) rather than their normal game. I also think keeping JNW on for the 90 was mistake. Firstly, it was a massive risk with it being his first start back after injury and secondly, he looked a bit tired towards the end and I think that contributed to the penalty incident. I would have liked to have seen Bobby or Barry come on for JNW instead of for Bowerman.
With all that being said, it is hard to be too critical of the game considering the players we were missing. You can nearly make a very decent side just with the players that were missing! Camp, Craig, Milsom, Taylor, Pybus, Moore, Carter, Murphy, McShane - all that is missing is a winger and a GK and you genuinely have a side that could win our league there!
Some stats:
Possession: Dorking 66% - 34% Salisbury
xG: Dorking 1.88 - 2.61 Salisbury (by far out biggest xGA of the season although all 3 of their goals were very high xG values)
Shots: Dorking 12 (7) - 14 (3) Salisbury
Passes: Dorking 444 (376 accurate) - 230 (164 accurate) Salisbury
@adeb - 13 of the 20 goals we've conceded this season have been in the 2nd half. I would imagine that most sides in football will concede more 2nd half goals than 1st half as games become more stretched, etc. I don't think we ever concede 3 goals in that game late on if TC was on the pitch; there's no way he lets that happen.
