Probably not going to be the hottest topic on the forum, but it looks like a date has been set for the home game against Lingfield
10th Dec 2024 at Meadowbank
IF (big if cause it could be the B team) we win that game, then we would play AWAY at Farnham Town in the next round (date tbc)

9/11 correct, I'll take that! Brooking playing was a surprise and if he has picked up an injury then that was a really poor decision, especially for 90 mins.
I'll be honest, I thought the first half was terrible. Lingfield were arguably the better team for large parts of it and the senior players who played did themselves no favours at all. McShane looks like he needs a loan to me as I don't see him getting to the required level just playing 20 mins at the end of games here and there.
Second half was much better and I thought Murphy looked really sharp. As @dorking-eagle said, getting him back and playing somewhat regularly would be a massive bonus for the second half of the season. I also really liked the look of that Carlos Richards who is on trial. Looked extremely quick and good on the ball, albeit a bit rusty when it came to end product.
Farnham away in the next round will be a big test so it will be interesting to see what sort of side Marc puts out for it.
Marc said (can't remember if it was the pre or the post match interview) that Brooking wanted to play. The injury is certainly unfortunate.
I would have thought Farnham will be on a midweek in January as the fixture is a little bit behind where it should be already.
Assuming we don't risk any 1st team 'starters' against Farnham then I would say Farnham will be the strong favourites. I am looking forward to revisiting the great fish and chip restaurant I have been to there before though! 😋

Not officially announced by either team yet, but it appears from Surrey FA's website that the away game at Farnham Town is on 21 January

The game at Farnham is now showing on the Farnham Town official club website (fixture list) for 21 January 😊

Oh well that's one night I couldn't do. Will have to keep up with X (twitter) feeds
I'll have a Guinness
Ollie Rawlins has joined Cray Wanderers on loan/dual registration. I imagine he will still feature in the Farnham game though as it is dual reg.
So, do we think any first teamers in the squad for a week tonight?
@adeb I would assume so as it feels like a good opportunity to give some much needed minutes to the likes of Josh Taylor, Pybus, Norman, Bobby-Joe (if fit). Briggs may need some minutes after missing the last 3 games as well.
I'm sure Marc will give an indication in his update this week.
Marc confirmed that he will be taking the match and giving minutes to those that need it (Josh Taylor, Briggs, etc). Also confirmed that players out on loan can play (as they dont have a game with their loan club) so McShane, etc will feature.
Sounds like it will be a similar squad to Lingfield.
Deffo worth it, I like it there, seen it grow and imporve from when they were in step 6 during lockdown when they played in the same division as Dorking B. Club on the up with at least another promotion in them.

@dorking-eagle I think that Isthmian Prem division is quite weak at the moment and will be even weaker next season when the likes of Dover, Horsham and Billericay get out of it so I can see Farnham getting to NLS quite easily.
Will depend somewhat on who goes down from NLS this year and what division they get put in though.
Like us they have a decent location just off the High Street
The challenge they have is that their ground is only 3 sided and the bulk of the capacity would heavily have to be on two of the 4 sides.
They have got planning permission for a proper terrace at the clock end, but it's not all that big really
For Step 3 (Isthmian or Southern Prem) it's 2k capacity as a minimum, but in NLS it's 3000. That would require pretty much re-doing the main side where they have only just built a stand, in order to truly maximise capacity on that side.
Harry Hugo does have deep enough pockets for it all, but he also wants them to become more self sufficient too. When they announced the new terrace for the clock end, they wanted the fans to massively contribute through things like long term season tickets. And demand wasn't really there to be honest.

Tricky to pick a team for this as not sure how many first teamers Marc will pick. He suggested in the post match that he will play all of them but I highly doubt that.
Might not all be on the field at the same time but I imagine we'll see the following players involved:
Norman (if fit)
Gallagher Richardson B.Taylor
Briggs Pybus J.Taylor Norville-Williams
Myles
Rawlins McShane
Subs: Wooster, McManus, Brown, Saunders, Elliot, Murphy
Quite a strong squad for tomorrow's game.
