Probably not going to be the hottest topic on the forum, but it looks like a date has been set for the home game against Lingfield

10th Dec 2024 at Meadowbank

IF (big if cause it could be the B team) we win that game, then we would play AWAY at Farnham Town in the next round (date tbc)

Chertsey Town have withdrawn from the competition due to an injury crisis.

So we will play the winners of Carshalton v Kingstonian

Kingstonian have a midweek game both this week and next so I think the earliest that quarter final can be is 31st March-2nd April. I therefore don't expect our semi-final with the winner to be until 8th April at the very earliest.

Carshalton v Kingstonian is scheduled for 31st March

Walton & Hersham v South Park is 1st April

8th April looks like a very likely Semi-Final date for us now.

So it is Carshalton as they have just beaten Kingstonian 3-0. According to Carshalton game is to be played on Monday 28th.  However, would expect this date to be changed if Dorking finish outside top 3 and have to play playoff instead.

Good spot!

I wonder if the choice of the Monday is specifically BECAUSE we could be playing a play-off on the Tues or Wed

Then the DW v Carshalton game wouldn't have to be moved. We'd just play the B team in the Surrey Senior.

Seems like a terrible date for that fixture in my opinion...

You are basically throwing away that competition if we play the B Team/Academy at that stage and it takes away an opportunity to get some senior players some much needed minutes as well (McShane, Norman, Pybus, Murphy, etc). You feel interest would be pretty low for it if we had a play-off fixture at Meadowbank a day or two later as well.

From what I can see, the Surrey Intermediate Cup final is planned for the same night as well so not sure if they would move that or not.

Surely next week (8th) would be the best date for it as neither team have a game that midweek?

It could be that DW have one eye on hoping they have the Surrey Senior Cup Final on the blank weekend between the play off semi and the play off final?

Because if we do get to the play off final it could be hard to find a team to play a game against on that blank weekend? (only other solution is play a play off finalist from Nat League North who'd be in the same position)

@dorking-eagle I guess so but you could still do that and have the semi-final next week...

Both Leatherhead and Walton & Hersham's seasons would be finished by that blank weekend as the play-off final for both those leagues is the week before.

Would clubs (eg Leatherhead) who have finished their seasons want to play DW in what would be a post-season friendly for them (just to keep the DW squad ticking over for a playoff final)?

All hypothetical of course as we are winning the league away at Worthing of course.
