Anyone know if the Talking Wanderers podcast is returning for the new season?
Really enjoyed listening to this last season and hope it’s back soon 😀
Which guests do we think should be on future shows? … I’d be interested to hear from Ross McNeilly and also more player interviews too 👍

Hi guys, thanks for the messages. I have been on holiday, and as most people know Gary stepped down at the end of last season. We have had some discussions around it during the summer, but with a few people on holiday still it has been hard to get everyone together to have a chat about it. All I will say is yes, it should carry on in some form this season once we are all back and available! So, watch this space! And thanks for the suggestions about Ross and various others who I hope we can get to chat to once we are up and running.
Thanks for the updates guys ...
James - look forward to hearing all about the new plans in due course & hopefully to the return of Talking Wanderers sometime soon 😀

@jlamps any thoughts on new podcast season yet, or still in discussions? .. appreciate that it is a big commitment but was just thinking about it as there is a lot of progress within the club both on & off the field ...

@sddwfc thanks for the post. Yeah we’ve got a date set to record a new episode, just finalizing things with a guest and should have some updates coming out soon.

On the subject of podcasts - TOP TIP! - the just released 50th episode of the Premier Non League podcast is a fantastic listen - includes a REALLY insightful interview with Marc White, where he talks about his need to go proper Full Time (like really quickly!), refereeing and more!
back to Talking Wanderers....
"Why would I leave to join a League Two club? We're going there anyway!" - Marc White
@dorking-eagle Just listened to that episode. It was a really good listen, and the interview with Marc. I think a mid season talk with Marc on the TW podcast about some of the thoughts including team make up and going full time as a follow up would be interesting.
That interview sounded to me like part time mornings is actually more pressure for the players who have jobs. Liked Marc's analogy about throwing away old pairs of shoes, its really difficult but eventually you have to!

@dorking-eagle thanks for the link to the PNLP podcast interview with Marc … really interesting listen and to hear of the news to move to full time soon and the profile of player … 👍 🐔 ⚽️
Another season of change and consolidation in the NL 🤔

If all the team becomes full time will the manager also go full time? Any thoughts?
He works 18 hour days as it is, the majority of his time spent to do with the club, scouting players, watching oppo, running the business side - he already does 2 jobs for the club - owner and team manager! The guy is a machine.

Yes, he certainly has lots of drive and ambition and his ability to keep so many balls in the air is remarkable. His personality, rather than DWFC per se, is probably the main reason so many people have bought shares.
He gets his kicks from managing the team, but he needs the income from his nine-to-five business Promote UK to live on. Owning/chairing the Club takes a lot of time and there are a number of stressful issues to deal with: buying and developing the ground, the ownership project and dealing with the Surrey FA saboteurs.
But if we have a full time playing squad the manager role will also need to be full time (perhaps in Marc’s case “almost” full time). Wonder what his options are. CEO to run the club perhaps? Does he have faith in his current Head Coach and Assistant Manager?
Any thoughts?
@dorkingtyke I know, so many questions (& some big ones too) and shows how much change will happen over the next year or two at the club
While the off field changes will happen we also need to focus on consolidating as a NL team and establishing ourselves in this great league … before a play off/ promotion push in a year or two? 🤔
Meanwhile 3 away points at our neighbours today will be a massive boost 🐔 ⚽️
