After the chaos on Saturday, we head to Kent to face 11th placed Tonbridge Angels. The last time we were in the same league as them, we lost 3-1 both home and away so let's hope we don't see a repeat of that this season.

Tony Craig returns from suspension and Marc suggested that Charlie Carter may return as well. We may also see Rob Milsom after he was rested as a precaution on Saturday. Dan Pybus is unlikely to return until the weekend.

Predictions:

Tonbridge Angels 2-2 Dorking (Muitt, Carter)

990 att. (72 away)

                       Foulkes

       Brooking      Craig     Milsom

Muitt     McManus     Gallagher     Bowerman

                Carter        Young

                     Rutherford

Subs: Norville-Williams, B.Taylor, Francomb, Prior, Alexandrou

I know it’s quite a tricky place to go isn’t it, regardless of their league position.
Craig and Carter coming back will be a massive plus. I’ll take the draw now to be honest but fingers crossed for better .

1-1 I’ll say

I'll be the optimistic one and go for a comfortable Wanderers triumph! 3 - 1. Rutherford with a couple and, say, Muitt.

A nervy 2-1 for the Wanderers, I say. Alfie and Carter for the goals. Carter has gotten off more and better shots than last season. Alfie's form keeps picking up. Really hope Milsom is back. TC, Brookings, and Milsom have been great together.

Anybody seen the clip on BOA of Marc leading from the front? Brilliant!

Following the clubs twitter feed tonight, sounds like we are creating quite a bit. Shame about the early goal

We huffed and we puffed but we couldn't score for toffee. Unfortunately a lot of teams will do that against us. If we had Carter, Josh Taylor and Murphy in the team last night we'd have probably won that in reality.

Getting a bit fed up of the strategic 'sit down Harrison' routine, but I guess there's no rule in place to stop clubs taking advantage (we do it every game and even highlight it on BoA). There needs to be a rule change that during player 'injury treatment' that teams cannot all go over to dugouts for tactical update with the bench (although last night it was just to stop play whilst Brooking changed his blood stained kit) - that would stop it happening in the majority of cases.

No doubt we will beat Welling now - one step back, one step forward!

Sorry about the triple post, and I know I am really tired from sitting in that car park half the night and I totally accept the injury crisis and we all have to be patient etc, but we have to find a way to break down teams that nick a lead and defend like warriors (some modern folk call it a low block or whatever) We go wide, we whip in crosses or put in passes, three quarters of those crosses/passes lead to sod all, and it's dire. If some players aren't confident getting past their marker (Bowerman) they go backwards. Jason looks knackered playing Sat-Tues.

Thank goodness we are at home next, I am guessing Welling are going to park a couple of buses?!!!

We're not going down or anything, but just finding consistency in performances is going to be a huge task

Frustrating more than anything. Had a few cleared off the line and a few other good chances as well. Actually thought we played quite well so not too down about it but as others have said, we need to start getting some consistency and winning games regularly. We haven't won an away game since the first game of the season...

The whole game had a very similar vibe to the Aveley game a few weeks ago. It even felt like we were playing against 10 men at times last night but we just couldn't get the delivery from wide areas quite right. Most of our attacking success actually came through the middle for a change.

One big positive last night I thought was Jack Young. Looks a superb player and I will be interested to see what we do with him when the likes of Pybus, Carter and Josh Taylor return to the side.

Sounds like Josh Brooking was sent off after the final whistle so not sure how long he will be out for. That sort of red is usually only one game but he has already had a red card this season, although it was overturned so hopefully still only 1 game. I also think that might have been a 5th yellow for McManus (might only be 4, the FA website is shit) so he could be missing this weekend as well.

@dorking-eagle

You can let teams come onto you and then use direct balls and pace to break them down.

The coaches answer is you move the ball around, create gaps and then exploit the gaps. But even then the team is not blessed with players with that burst of pace to get past an exposed opponent 1v1. As you say some of them just aren't the type to drive into the space. Briggs is one for sure in that department who has served us well in the past.

How we play when a team is just sitting in defending a lead. Or trying to get a draw from the start.

This probably depends partly on the personnel available as well though. The team has a lot of quality but finding the right system to be effective in every game and every situation, is proving to be a challenge. I do think Marc needs help here from his coaching team, he cannot do it all himself.
