From todays Dorking Advertiser:

Season ticket holders from any club can attend Saturdays game between Dorking Wanderers and Weston super Mare for just £10 on the gate, by presenting a valid season ticket.

(this is to celebrate 1000 games)

Should hopefully be a good crowd then with that offer.

We may as well use this thread for the discussion/predictions as well.

Muitt a doubt again apparently so possibly McManus to play on that right hand side? Norman or Young (if fit) to take his place on the bench I guess.

That is a shame about Muitt.  What with Brooking out again. I would be tempted to play Francomb there as he plays well wherever, with Pybus or Young in the middle.  But Niall would put a shift in no doubt.

Might have to change tactics a bit and go down the middle, in which case Murphy would be a good starter.

I think  it will be very tight. 1-0 win again.  Weston looked a decent side at their place, second half at least.

Should be a good crowd in today with the incentives of cheaper tickets and a grand behind the bar.

2-1 home win

Really don’t get these home performances. We have great back backing down here but they just fail to turn it on,game after game.

It's a shocking haircut to be fair!

Home and away games are like chalk and cheese. I never miss the aways, home games meh though. Especially as Palace are flying right now.

Sorry.

Yep, the home form is becoming a real issue. First 7 minutes were great. After that - meh. Yet again, hardly any chances created in open play. Without usual width there was no plan B it seems.

Even so, we should never have lost that game. I didn’t see the foul by Williams that led to the free kick, but so unnecessary as ball was gone.
Thank god we are away next week!

It's home form against so many teams in this league whose no1 aim is to stop us. And try and catch something from a set-piece or on the break. So frustrating.

Still, if we do have to settle for the play offs, and get home advantage, I'm guessing we won't see those sort of tactics so could be ok...

Roll on Farnham - will be worth a watch now, I'm sure. Apparently Marc and the FTFC owner, Harry, have been back and forth on WhatsApp...pride at stake!

We were probably better than I initially gave us credit before but it was still a really poor performance and yet another defeat at home (17 home defeats since the start of last season...). I appreciate that we were desperately short of wide players but I think we had enough in the squad to make it work (JNW and BJT on the bench) instead of that bizarre formation that we played for most of the game.

We actually had fairly decent chances throughout the game (especially early on) but we just can't seem to take any at home at the moment. Defending for the second two Weston goals was really poor and reminded me of a lot of the home goals we conceded last season.

The positives are that Briggs and hopefully Muitt will be back next week and I imagine Jack Young can't be far away either. Josh Taylor and Dan Pybus getting some good minutes was useful as well.

I do think that we probably can't lose any more games at home this season and will probably need to win the majority to have any chance of going up automatically. Fortunately we only have two more away games on artificial surfaces this season.

Stats:

Possession: Dorking 66% - 34% Weston

xG: Dorking 1.48 - 0.73 Weston

Shots (On Target): Dorking 12 (3) - 8 (3) Weston

Touches in Penalty Area: Dorking 12 - 9 Weston (Our 2nd lowest of the season behind the Boreham Wood match)

Home form seems to be a bit of a hangover from last season in NLP. When the tried and tested tactic would be to hang onto 0-0 by half time, then throw the kitchen sink at it in the second half. As if Dorking wasn't 2 goals ahead by then, you could exploit the gaps being left at the back.

As an attacking side, we need to capitalise on superiority in the 1st half at home. The lads miss a lot of chances at home, and miss a lot of openings and its not all due to the pitch. Seems to be psychological to me and a hangover from those NLP home losses last season. In those games we were not creating anywhere near as many chances as we are this season at home either.
