On the road to the South West yet again as we face Weston-super-Mare for a first match on grass for what feels like an age.

Camp, Kuhl, Moore and McShane remain mid/longer term injuries while I assume we will find out more about Josh Taylor's injury in Marc's update this week. Marc mentioned that Muitt and McManus picked up injuries late on against Horsham so you would expect them to be doubts for this as well, along with Norville-Williams.

Theo Alexandrou joins up for the first time while Bobby-Joe returns from suspension (finally).

Predictions:

Weston-super-Mare 1-1 Dorking (Briggs)

942 att (86 away)

                             Foulkes

           Brooking      Craig       Francomb

 Briggs          Pybus        Gallagher?       Bowerman

                             Carter

                   Prior               Murphy

Subs: Fuller, Brown, B.Taylor, Alexandrou, Rutherford

Tough to pick a midfield for this if McManus is out but I assume Gallagher has to start there if we want to play a 3-5-2, unless he plays one of the youngsters. Could play a 4-4-2 with Carter alongside Pybus and play Fuller or Bobby-Joe at left back.

It was a really good game - both sides looking to play decent football and creating some decent chances.   Missed the first 10 minutes (thanks a bunch EasyJet 😡) but enjoyed seeing Brooking and Briggs creating havoc down the right for most of the half.
Second half I thought Weston shaded and would have won but for some great saves from Foulkes. Milsom and Bobby Joe did well on the left but sad to see Prior really struggling to contribute much up front. He looks knackered.

A relief if it is just a one match ban for Brooking. He is a class apart.  Lovely pitch to play on and nice set up at Weston. Maybe up to 100 Dorking there but hard to tell as scattered about a bit.

Lovely pitch. Nice to be able to take my beer outside and sit in the stand among the local fans - who were very chatty and friendly. Much prefer non-segregation.

Milsom looked as though he'd been playing with us for months. Very competent and assured. Didn't really get to see what Alexandrou was made of as he had to drop back when Josh was dismissed.

Stats don't make great reading and are fairly similar to the Eastbourne game:

Possession: Weston 46% - 54% Dorking

xG: Weston 1.61 - 0.75 Dorking

Shots: Weston 16 (7) - 9 (4) Dorking

Top Performer: Harrison Foulkes [8.0]

Side note - not seen Marc or anyone mention why Murphy was not involved? Hopefully just rested and not injured yet again...
