Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
Supporters coach available to book online at https://dorkingwanderersfc.ktckts.com/event/hftcsc/halifax-town-supporters-coach
Coach departs Dorking High Street at 8am (please arrive in good time for the coach to be able to depart on schedule)
Match tickets at Halifax are usually pay on the turnstile, and cash only but if this is confirmed (or otherwise) I will update on here.
Decent away day is Halifax, nice things to see a short walk from the ground, and some lovely pubs too, which I am sure others will share more info about...

I can definitely recommend spending some time in Halifax, plenty to see and some great surprises.
We go up every year for the music festival at the Piece Hall - well worth a visit even without the music.
Some classic old pubs too:
Victorian Craft Ale Cafe for a massive selection of beers in a quirky building
Three Pigeons, near the ground, for Victorian pub with several rooms and the best pork pies in the country (I kid you not)
Graystone Unity - small but perfectly formed but just moved to a new location near Piece Hall- not seen yet.
The Big Six - a terraced house that turns into a Tardis of rooms inside, untouched since the 1930s I think , apart from the beers that is.
We will be making a night of it after the game no doubt - see you there!
I heartily concur with Baggy's sentiments and suggestions.
'The Victorian' Craft ale bar is about 10 mins from the ground, off Commercial Street.
The Upper George is a legendary town centre pub, tucked away off Crown Street with a little courtyard, worth seeking out, friendly place.
After a couple at both these, I'd then stroll to the 'Three Pigeons, as Baggy has suggested... welcoming, good beers at keen prices...an amazing pub. Two minutes from the ground.
The Big Six is a pub like no other, but is a 20 minute hike from the footy ground, well worth it for the pub enthusiast.
There are plenty of 'Sports Bars' in the town with TVs everywhere, but are a bit bland and I'd suggest avoiding these.
I forgot to say, don't miss out on a visit to The Piece Hall - you'll be blow away.
There are a couple of bars in there too
Welcome The Shamen, glad you found us, do stick around if you want to join in, we're a welcoming bunch, even when we lose!

An article from 2016, bit old but still well worth a read for things to do:
"Why would I leave to join a League Two club? We're going there anyway!" - Marc White
Well I don't think he made the most of Halifax to be honest. Not a single pub visited! Follow @ The Shamen - Halifax born & bred, but just about converted to the Wanderers after years in Dorking. More advice to come ...
Really need to get some more coach seats filled if the club are going to continue doing bargain £25 fares for such long trips!
18 coach seats sold so far, we should be bringing at least double that. Great coach drivers, great company!

Yep, that is a bargain price. I can vouch for that as am paying the train fare and staying over 😩
32 on the coach in the end, and a party bus atmosphere on the way home!!🥳🎉

Great effort from The 32 at the ground. Relentless support in second half 🙌🏽
Loved the Three Pigeons pub before the game too.
Brilliant day out.
